"Faceless are, what some would call, a vessel for creating an artificial afterlife. Spiritual beings that only grow stronger from absorbing those around them. Usually spawning as a "fodder" until they grow and undergo slimy new transformations. The "skull" or "mask" of a faceless is their only known weak point as the inky primordial ooze is completely invulnerable to all types of damage. This anchor that binds them to whatever realm they invade also has a "max DPS" cap, making them notoriously durable as they scale to all opponents around them.
Any attacks survived by faceless that isn't outright absorption can permanently damage the body and soul so be extremely cautious. Faceless are usually controlled by Maxwell as they invade entire multiverses in countless numbers, always consuming the gods of that realm first, and picking off every single legendary hero that would follow next. Faceless without a "script" are usually dubbed as "wild" faceless and can be found almost anywhere and everywhere. Although they're much more docile when they're not forced to do Maxwell's bidding. The best way to engage a faceless foe is to not engage them at all. Ensure your survival, there are no rewards or glory to be found here..." ~Thomza Materia
With October being around and Halloween coming ever closer, I think I can actually make more post on faceless considering they have the absolute "darkest" theme in the whole setting. These eldritch and almost unstoppable monsters have destroyed most of the main character's homes and are mostly finding refuge in Cycle 10 in hopes that Maxwell's army will not invade it. They will halt all his attempts to mass spawn them in while still just barely holding out and winning small engagements against them. Even with multiple gods, main characters and legendary heroes, they still struggle violently as plot armor will not save anybody here. Even in multiple posts I have detailed many characters even being slain by faceless forces and absorbed into Maxwell's ever growing snowball army that ravages the multiverse right outside of Cycle 10. Thankfully, the grand multiverse is an endless ever-expanding place and in theory the final multiverse should never die out. "In theory", of course
Now with that being said there are MULTIPLE Faceless post of what these things are capable of, and I will now link those posts here which can be found on my DA page:
If you want to see anything about their leader, Maxwell, and proper main antagonist of the setting, you can find that here: https://www.deviantart.com/twistedh.....well-945082763
If you want to see what happens to universes that are invaded, you can see that here: https://www.deviantart.com/twistedh.....Fell-934724403
and if you want to see what happens to those who are absorbed, and a faceless variant of a legendary hero to show no one is safe you can find that here: https://www.deviantart.com/twistedh.....Evil-959715613
Other than that? Thank you for reading everyone, next time? We're going to start talking about Maskless beings! Also, if you're wondering what variants of Faceless are front in center in this image, we have the "Sidewinder" snake-like creature, the "Fodder" which are meant to look slightly like Jellyfish, and just partially one of the Faceless "Dagger" variants.
Disclaimer and Copyright: These characters involved, and the artwork belongs to me, TwistedHensley. The Skin to Scales Universe also belongs to me there, TwistedHensley... You get the drill. I want to point out that this is an Epic Dark Fantasy setting with a lot of mythological and religious tones and that there is no real-life connection to any of these events, religions, characters and it is fully, grounded, in fantasy. There is no copyright infringement also intended to other forms of media as Skin to Scales is meant to be its own thing and something I've been working on for a very long time. This is the same setting where faith is a massive part of the magic system, and it is usually meant to have a very bright and colorful art style to help balance the tone.
