When the Imperial Galbian Army began fielding larger number of heavily armored soldiers and reinforced metal golems, the OAF needed a solution to combat them. Thus came the development of the Heavy Snipe Marine, marines trained to use the Type 1000 Heavy Railgun Sniper rifle. While it can fire solid adamantium core rounds, its difficult to use and even seasoned snipers require extensive training to use such a temperamental weapon.
