Phone in hand, Rivet wordlessly arched his brows.

KACLICK

A sly smile creased the lion's lips as his front facing camera, of its own accord, snapped a selfie. Nigh instantaneously his Gallery launched and he was greeted with his rumpled likeness. Bedraggled bedhead draped over his eyes; Mane a frumpy mess; Crusty discharge collecting in the corner of his eyes; The works.

"Can I help you, Tera?" Rivet said with a snort. The liquid crystal display of his phone screen bubbled and frothed as Tera's digital likeness burrowed its way free from the depths.

The Synth's disembodied head, her angular ears carving through the sea of pixels as if they were dorsal fins, scritched against Rivet's padded thumb resting atop the screen. Ripples coursed across the image before, with an RGB accentuated splash, Tera's mug breached the surface.

Tera's visage, reptilian in construction and crafted from bone white alloys and plastics, happily took to flapping her gums.

"..."

"...?"

"...!!!"

Only for her pixelated eyes, streched wide across the sky blue visor serving as the Synth's face, to grumpily contract into tildes upon the realization that her voice could not be heard.

With a roll of his eyes, Rivet puffed at the knotted locks of hair tickling at his nose and cranked up his phone's volume. "Better?"

"Much!" snipped Tera. Bouncing excitedly in place, her jaw slapping against the lion's picteresque pectorals captured on screen, Tera's eyes expanded into twirling asterisks. "I've got something to show you!"

"Uh huh?" Rivet asked. Rubbing at the back of his head with his free hand he took to moseying around his high rise apartment while she gushed away. Blinking tiredly he aimlessly ambled about until he happened upon his phone charger.

PIP

With a buzz and rumble, Tera's visage bounced side to side as Rivet plugged his phone in. "That something being...?" asked the lion as he, pre-emptively, guarded against any activities that might drain his battery in an instant.

"You'll see!" cackled Tera. "Lemme just reroute some resources and internal memory..."

Bags formed under Rivet's eyes as the obelisk of black plastic and glass within his grasp promptly began to smolder. "Tera."

"Don't worry about it!"

The lion's eyes went wide as his phone, at risk of overheating, cycled through the motions of a safe mode shutdown. "TERA!"

"Okay maybe do worry abo-"

VBEW

Rivet's phone, its screen blindingly bright all of an instant ago, went dark. Lips pulled flat, ears drooped, and tail dragging along the floor the frustrated feline let slip an exaggerated sigh.

VRRRRR

"Hmm?" Brow cocked, the Transhuman watched on curiously as his phone rebooted. The Commonwealth's logo, a triumvirate of interlocking gears, flickered in and out of focus on screen.

BZZZZT

"Almost..." Tera's voice, laced with static, crackled free from the speakers and massaged Rivet's fingers.

BVEWWWWW

"GOT IT!" the Synth triumphantly declared as her likeness, from the torso on up, came to practically overflow the screen. Shoulders bunched together, and breasts practically bulging out the liquid crystals embedded into the display, Tera flashed a mischievous grin.

Blink blinking, Rivet couldn't help but gawk as a furious blush came to crease his cheeks. "Tera?! What did you-" Pinching his fingers against the screen, Rivet spread them apart only for-

BWUMP

Tera to ack as he zoomed in on her snooter. The side of her face filling the whole of the screen, and practically pinned in place, Tera whined as her lone pixelated eye rearranged itself into a less than sign. "Rivet. Please."

"Oops." Pinching his padded fingertips together, Rivet steadily zoomed out. Swirling at signs filled Tera's face plate as her now disembodied bust bobbed to and fro on screen. The lion sheepishly took to scratching at his cheek with his free hand. "I uhh... I like the upgrade!"

The Synth, her lips wavering like a sine wave, violently shook her head and reset her expressive emotes. "You better!" she snarked.

"...You look good," Rivet shyly smiled back. He could feel Tera's blush through his phone as it positively crackled with heat.

Devilish and giddy laughter tumbled free from the synth's maw. "So what I'm hearing is I should surprise you more often!"

Brows furrowed, Rivet... held his tongue. Chin tucked against his shoulder he opted to play along with his digital devil. Just this once. "Maybe."

Tera, ever relishing the back and forth of their playful banter, choked at the unexpected assent. "Wait. ...Really?"

"Really."

A smile, warm and sincere, spread wide across Tera's reptilian mug. "W-w-well then! I'll just uhh..." Bright pink, and angled, lines bubbled up along the bottom of her faceplate and pressed against the bottoms of her pixelated eyes. "Uhh. Ummmmmm."

MWAH

Pressing his puckered lips against the screen, Rivet placed a gentle smeck upon his gremlin of a girlfriend. "Love you, Tera."

BZZZZT

Static, electrifying and spine tingling, trailed from the Transhuman's lips as Tera reciprocated his affection best she could. Siiiigh. What she wouldn't give to be able to reach through the screen and hold him in her arms. "...Love you too, Rivet," she oh so shyly eeheed.
