It was a dark and stormy evening. It poured hard upon the gloomy land, battering down on the devoid park. Everyone has since fled the rain, apart from one particular human. A human in a blue hoodie, hood on and tied closed, all the while he sat by a tree and cried. He had been wandering the land for who knows how long, aimless in his path, but when the storm came in, he just sat down by a nearby tree and wept, overwhelmed by the world. As he cried, he heard some steps nearby, making him get out of his trance and look over, looking fearful that he'd see some glowing eyes of someone who'd try and hurt him, when an anthro wolf walked by, not even noticing him as he seemed to enjoy the rain. The wolf was taller than the human, colored in black, white, and blue, just enjoying the almost vacant park as the rain poured down. The human just ignored him and continued in his misery, wanting to hide away from the world, when he heard something in front of him and looked up, shocked as he saw the wolf looking down at him. The human backed up into the tree, scared by what the wolf might try to do, which made the wolf's face droop, looking worried for the human. The wolf kneeled down and asked for the human's name, which made the human a bit nervous, but he responded by telling the wolf his name was John. The wolf smiled and told the human his name, Wolfy, and tried to hold his hand out to help him up, but was sad when he saw John's face grow even more fearful when he attempted to. Wolfy knew that John was scared of him and tried to figure out a way to calm his nerves. He then smiled and pointed to his blue hearts, showing off all the hearts on him, from his belly to his eyes and even his forehead, showing that it was more than just a birthmark, hoping it would help the human trust him. John looked at them emotionlessly, still too sad to react, but on the inside, he was happy to see them, and he grew to trust the wolf. He then started to sniffle again, which the wolf noticed and came closer, wondering what he could do to help. John noticed him coming closer and held his arms out, just wanting to hug him. Wolfy saw that and slowly scooped the human in his arms, picking John up and up to his head, which the human hugged tightly and cried once more. Wolfy let the human hug him for as long as he wanted, knowing he needed time to let it all out. The wolf would take care of the human for a while, getting him dry from the storm and fed, making this the start of a lasting friendship. John smiled more often after that, and they would have many more adventures together, but when the gloomy days arrived, Wolfy would be there for John, and John for Wolfy, always being there to be the Comfort in the Rain.
