Description:
Everest Kirovski had a well-performed history of winter sports in her childhood and adolescent days back in Arkhangelsk, until she shifted to joining the non-government rescue team, covering on saving people from different types of danger across the northern coast of Russia. Following the disbandment of the said team in 2018, mostly due to bankruptcy, she was scouted by the Canadian scientist named Jake Newell the leopard and hired to work for an international emergency team based in Antarctica, set to save scientists, explorers and others, as well as to protect valuable items or specimens, in case of any disaster that occurred. Having stepped into foreign research stations found across the vast island for few years, she had to learn several languages (and even improve her English) in order to communicate well with foreign peoples residing there. Interestingly, the said emergency team was specifically stationed in Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station, a research station built for the United States literally in South Pole, and given that Jake Newell had been staying and working there, it gave Everest an opportunity to get to know him, since he personally met her back in Arkhangelsk, albeit platonic.
In July 2022, Jake returned to his former birthplace, the Canadian town of Adventure Bay, where it had been ravaged by earthquake and sunk into the sea, almost all beyond repair. This time however, with rumors recently spreading across the United States (which somehow went as far as Hawaii and even Antarctica) that some group of Cascadian radicals deliberately bombed the town, Jake brought along his fellow American scientists and Everest to help him investigate whatever happened to Adventure Bay. Things went well for him and his team for few days, until they were ambushed by the Double Dougs, the culprit group, and the former were forced to leave almost everything behind for a safe place in a nearby town in the US border. Usually, the Double Dougs were hesistant to walk into that border, given that American soldiers were increasingly guarding it, but realizing the potentially overwhelming wrath from the US Army over the increasingly intensified rumors about them, they decided to sneak into that town and get rid of Jake's team as soon and quick as possible. Everest, being unfamiliar with the forested environment and not used to fighting, was easily defeated by the Double Dougs, who then kidnapped Jake and his team and brought them back to Canada.
Everest was recovered by the border guards from another ambush on the next morning and was horrified over what happened. No one in the border town, not even the soldiers stationed there, could do anything to save Jake's team, since the Double Dougs were used to guerilla tactics, but one soldier named Amir Rasbah, a camel larger among all, saw potential in her and suggested her to join the MALAKAS Project. Aside from common advantages in joining the project, Amir added that it could help her not only improve in fighting, but also develop and improvise her ways in rescuing people and evading danger, such as getting a leg stuck while climbing or clinging onto life on an unstable cliff. Having heard about the project for the first time, Everest felt hesistant, but Amir was kind enough to give her money and drive her to Santo Tomas to sign her in there. Still, she remained worried about what happened to Jake, so Amir assured her (despite his uncertainty) that the Double Dougs were probably only wanting information from him and his team, lest killing them would attract a brutal retaliation from both the US and Canadian armies.
After joining the MALAKAS Project and starting her day in Mt. Tingganda Military Base, she unknowingly bumped into another recruit named Skye Cockapoo, who immediately took an interest in her, as Everest displayed her calm but tomboyish behavior in training. An hour later, having noticed Skye watching her working out, Everest had a lengthy talk with Skye, mostly about her past and her motive to join the project. Skye, having hailed from Adventure Bay, was at best livid at what the Double Dougs did to her hometown, but had never felt much sympathy towards a faraway resident (like Jake Newell) who had lost his home in an instant and then just wanted to find out as much as she wanted to. While Everest obviously had no close connection to Adventure Bay, it was clear to Skye that the Siberan husky girl did have feelings for Jake, since he brought her (the only emergency specialty member) to his team investigation, though Everest was nervously quick to insist that they were just friends.
Since that day, Skye began assisting Everest in training, though only in form of substitution for Everest's instructor named Aurora Tellermase who was supposed to do so but was frequently summoned to deal with rebelling beavers back in Brisa Creek. Regardless, Everest managed to progress and had developed a lot of fighting skills, leading to a dozen of spars between her and Skye every week. With the help of Skye's friend Ryder and a couple of simulated dangers in his own snow room, she had even developed an arsenal of snow and ice based weapons, with the only addition of her use in assault rifles. After she became a Super Soldier, she was honored as a member of the newly formed PAW Patrol.
Although she was open for instructorship for the project, she wished to do what she planned to do: going after the Double Dougs back in Canada and freeing Jack Newell and his fellow scientists, a plan that Amir approved in secret. The project's supervisor agreed to let her go, as long as she was to finish her personal job, and had smuggled her out of Santo Tomas. In October 2022, Everest returned to Adventure Bay, retrieved what was left of Jack's findings, and followed the trails into the nearest one of Double Dougs' hideouts. On cue, Amir and his soldiers created a distraction in a nearby town of Foggy Bottom (much to the chagrin of its mayor), prompting the radicals to take on the former, unknowingly allowing Everest to snoop into their hideout. Things turned fortunate for her to find the American scientists starving but alive, though the same couldn't be said for Jack, who was found shot on his forehead. Although saddened over his fate, she found the notes well-concealed in his modified ID card, but among those set to conclude his findings, one note just happened to be his goodbye letter to Everest, and to Everest alone did Jack acknowledge her feelings towards him and express his regrets for spending overtime on work instead of hanging out with her on his free time back in South Pole, and finally give out his last thanks to her for being there for him even when she failed to fight off his pursuers. The Siberian husky girl was brought to tears over that letter, and the American scientists remained silent and comforted her, but their time was short as they heard the Double Dougs returning, prompting Everest and the scientists to sneak out and return to the US bordertown.
After a handshake with Amir and a tearful hug with the scientists, Everest returned to the mountain base to start his instructorship. Furthermore, while Everest remained close to Skye, she also began to see eye to eye with another PAW Patroller Marshall more frequently than last time, in which Skye (having already noticed) proactively encouraged the husky to get to know him personally. In November in the same year, the Double Dougs were shocked to see the American scientists on news, safely transported back to Amundsen-Scott, instead of being brought into another radical branch in Graham Island. After hearing the said scientists giving thanks to Everest for saving them, the Double Dougs were outraged to realize that Everest, the very girl they managed to beat her last time, had snuck into their hideout and saved the scientists without their knowledge. Furthermore, they had also been on a lookout on the mountain base and the MALAKAS Project for weeks, and had discovered the PAW Patrol (including Everest) organizing their plot to take on the radicalized Cascadians. With the rumors about them gradually dissipating in the US, the Double Dougs had set their route to Santo Tomas to eliminate the MALAKAS Project, for they perceived the very city in California as their biggest threat.
