It's on white watercolor paper that's been cut out and pasted onto a punched, colored card. Those two layers are laminated together. I scan it on top of some stock paper with a pattern so that the punches are easier to see, and it's a lot easier to balance the colors on something other than the white scanner bed.

Got a huge package of differently-sized colored acid-free cards at the dollar store, so this is a good way to use them.
