you can try the mod (will likely work only for 6.84 version)
To use it, you need the -override_vpk command in launch option
Be aware it disables matchmaking! Once you enable this command, game won't allow you to join matchmaking.
If you use any other means to run custom models with third party tools, you risk getting banned.
Use this mod only in offline botplay or local play!
