Yup, they're back! All this week while going on my walks, they're lined up along the tops of trees and bushes, creaking away. :)

If you like the redwings, check this out... though I haven't seen yellow-headed blackbirds around here in a long while, they make an even more metallic, surreal noise that I'll never forget from when I first saw them as a kid at a local marsh. http://identify.whatbird.com/obj/53.....Blackbird.aspx

WHOA, that sound is amazing! If I knew how to produce electronic music I would totally sample wacky bird calls like that. I don't recall if I've ever seen any of those yellow-headed guys around here, but I don't live in a marshy enough place I think. Most of the redwings around here hang out in parking lots and such, struttin' around and giving people and cars the beady bird eye glare.

Yeah, I too like the sound the reds make.

Supposedly there are a few tricolors out here (in the west) also, although I have yet to see one.
