I think many places in the world have their own version of this dish. If you like Japanese kabayaki but wanted something more filling and still goes well with your dry beer - look no further
This can also be used to finish up your veggie scraps, you can throw in pretty much anything as long as it does not absorb too much oil like cabbages, sliced okra, and bell peppers will be good.
::Ingredients::
Veg mix;
-1/2 carrot, julienned
-2 fistfuls of beansprouts, can be replaced with 1 fistful of sweetcorn kernels
- 1 length of spring onion, sliced thin
- 1 length of celery, idk how big the celery are over there, just use half amount that you have for the spring onion
- 1/2 chicken breast, minced then marinated in 1 tsp of soy sauce and 1 tsp of veg oil. Add a pinch of salt & pepper also
Batter;
- 6 cloves of garlic, ground to a fine paste
-150 grams all purpose flour
- 70 grams of rice flour (can be substituted with potato starch or corn flour)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp chicken bouillon powder
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 220 ml of water
- 1 egg
::Directions::
-Veg mix
In a pan, stir fry your chicken and beansprouts. You can either add the carrots and spring onion, but if you prefer 'em fresh and crisp you can let 'em aside.
-Batter
Mix well all ingredients till it combined, then mix in the veg mix.
-Fritters
Heat some oil in a pan, put 1/2 ladle of the mixed batter once the oil is hot. Pat the batter with the back of yer laddle so it will thin out.
Leave some spacing in the pan so the stuff won't clump. Take it off the oil once they're golden brown. Put on cooling rag then on to paper towel.
Repeat till yer running out of the batter mix
This makes like 12 fritters. Very good with sriracha on the side for dipping, and beer on the side.
