Here’s a pencil sketch of a certain character from a recent motion picture about pirates. Actually this was done while I was watching that particular movie.
The intent of the sketch was to capture the particulars of the costume; the character’s headband, the headband’s danglies and some of the character’s facial characteristics. In essence it is a costume sketch. The type that would be submitted during the initial stages of a motion picture’s development.
That my lionmorph model ended up smirking seems to suggest that he knows something about this that I don’t. I figure it is best not for me to ask. Savvy?

I have GOT to see that movie soon. I never went to see it in the movies, cos the cinema here sucks:p (Small villages you know).
Is it out on DVD yet?
What does "Savvy" mean btw?:p
Nice sketch. You draw from movies often? I do that as well, nice way to train^^, I wish i could do it as good as you have here though... My sketches sort of... you know...
Anyways, nice job on this^^, I'm downloading it to use as ref if thats ok;)

What were you thinking? And why didn't I think of it?! You've just managed to merge two very sexy things right there. =3 Impressive piece of work, I really like the hair decorations and the other nice little details. I've always admired those who could sketch well. Well done ^^.
Oh wow! Thank you, Saul.
Eventually I might do a picture of a lionmorph pirate in full costume. I like to do sketches of the details in my pictures before I start them rather than have them come up as a problem in mid-picture.
Naturally I have lots and lots of sketches.

*swaggers in somewhat off-balance and snags the soda*
Now y'see, there wuz this man, wonderful man mind you.
*puts his finger up to the other lion's lips*
Shh, not you, poppet.
Well.
Could have been, love, but when you've had a dram or two too much along the Barbary Coast, all the han'some lions look the same after a while.
So.
This man y'see, 'twas my bucko, and he gots himself so drunk, well, let's say you ain't never seen anyone do such things with cackle fruit as he did, love.
So maybe wasn't you.
Could have been.
Ever wake up with yolk under your tail?
That'd explain everything.

*bursts out laughing then nods his head in agreement*
Did I ever tell you about the time that Freaky entangled me in a college science-geek's (by the name of MarcFox) far-fetched "time machine" project? "Lionus," Freaky said with his little vulpine eyes shining like it was the night before Christmas, "those Caribbean bozos back there are just sitting ducks for us. We're in, we're out, and we're back sitting on Easy Street!" Another one of Freaky's Get-Rich-Quick schemes.
Nod your head, go through the motions, and generally the implausibility of it all eventually convinces Freaky to go away to hatch some other scheme and you are left in peace.
The only problem was, this time that stupid "time machine" actually worked!! :(

Forgot deppy's golden fangs ^^
*smiles* he looks different as a lion. :P
Could've caught him in his like... hand flailing pose too. Heh... that'd be funny to see as a lion, char i wonder if his tail would follow his hand waving in the air.... or if it wouldn't....
Anyways cool drawing. ^^

Probably if I had intended this sketch to be more than just a "costume capture" I would have gotten my "pirate" into a more Captain Jack Sparrow type pose (flailing hands and slightly off-balance stance).
Having done some thinking about just what a tail does, I figure that his tail would be positioned to the side side of his body opposite the way he was leaning at the moment. Savvy? ;)
Thanks, mate. :)

Ahhh, better to be paying attentions to your course, me lad. Davy's not a forgiven one, he aint, once he sets his watch lanterns onto a sailor's soul.
Reminds me of a story I once heard in Mad-dee-gas-gar about Davy and a swab that made a slippery deal with Oriental slaver. Buys me a nogger of rum and well maybe I'll be remembering all the de-tails of the story. Arhhh.
