Nope, it's a daytime attack alright...It's a carpet bombing, so pretty much everything in the area is effectively screwed.
The bomber also flies at a reasonably high altitude where surface-to-air missiles can't reach, even in 23 ad
But yeah, actually, I just made it bright to have some light effect there ^^

Must be a pretty big bomber to have an interior layout like that. I like how you detail the more important things in the picture and keep the background stuff out of focus, concentrates your attention.
Does the bomber throw it's bombs in the targets general direction like the callsign 's purpose?

True, but I was actually aiming for focal distance...I should kept the front guys facemask a little less focused for that...ah well ^^
Yeah, this is a carpet bombrun...so you just have a big area where stuff gets thrown, regardless of wether or not there is an actual enemy under every explosive

Carpet bombing is sweet though pretty ineffective if you're trying to blow anything specific up unless it's a city. Arc Light missions from Vietnam are probably the craziest example. A lot of those craters are little lakes now. Daisy Cutters and Fuel-Air bombs are the other coolest thing.
Another effect that would look good is depth of field. Making the guy in front highly focused and the guy in the back pretty blurry. It'd help emphasize the guy in front is the one talking, which is kinda obvious already but hey!

Yeah..that would also have been a possibility...that WAS the original plan, but I had done the guy up back too focused already...I might still wanna change that
Fuel-Air Bombs are probably like the coolest thing ever...problem is you can't predict the effect, like with all other aerosol weaponry...

Mmmm, you should check out some of John Ringo's books. There are some scenes in his Legacy of Aldenata series that you would probably be quite able to illustrate....and probably enjoy it a lot. The discussion of FAEs reminds me both of the time in his books when they cored a building to make a huge FAE to blow up Fredericksburg, VA (not very far from where I live, actually), and , in a later book, where they use phosphorous and thermobaric explosives (including things like the FAE) to consume all the oxygen in an area right before a temperature inversion moved in and trapped the O2-less air and suffocate the targets in the killzone.
Good stuff.
Good stuff.
Well, you can start the Legacy of Aldenata series at the Baen Free Library. You're looking for A Hymn Before Battle, followed by book 2, Gust Front, both by John Ringo.
John Ringo. Score. I can second that opinion. I've read all four in the Posleen war trilogy and the other one about the German tank crews that I can't remember the name of. Haven't read Cally's War yet though but that takes place after. Very sweet series if you like reading about giant tanks with giant guns or lots of armored combat suits that are pretty awesome. That and Earth getting its ass kicked by aliens.
You're speaking of Watch on the Rhine, by Ringo and Tom Kratman. I've thoroughly enjoyed every book I've read which has had Kratman's name on it. He actually lives in the same town I do, interesting guy.
By the by, pick up Yellow Eyes, if you have the chance. It's Ringo and Kratman in the PosVerse again, this time in Panama.

Actually, the Posleen war series (Well, the original four books of Legacy of Aldenata, as it's now called) was actually supposed to be a trilogy. It's mentioned in the afterword of Hells' Faire that Hell's Faire is actually the end of When the Devil Dances, which he was in the process of writing when Sept. 11 hit. Couldn't finish, so published what he had as When the Devil Dances and published the rest, later, when he could finish it, as Hell's Faire. So, it's technically a trilogy, had intended to be, but wound up not.
Yes, Yellow Eyes is new. Was released at the beginning of April.

lol, well.. the Walker is pretty like a mobile AA, and the EMP-SAMs are just anoying... but comparen the Gunships with the Choppers and Jets from BF2, they are just weak.
*g* i never understand those people, engaging a Tank while looking in its barreln and NOT pulling active defense ¬¬
BTW: Whats your Ingame-Name? *pulls the kinfe*

Wow... your comments TOTALLY reminded me of a scene I've imagined in my head for a while now...
See, I invented my own sci-fi setting for a roleplaying game. One of the details was a particular mech type called the Zero Hour, which mounted a very powerful weapon: a nuclear cannon. Not that it launched a nuclear warhead, but that it detonated a nuclear device in the guts of the gun inside one powerful-ass magnetic field, and projected the resulting hellish storm of energy at the target.
Now, since this weapon is so powerful, the pilot of the mech has to get special clearance to fire, almost like current-day launch codes for nuclear missiles. So I had imagined the interchange being something like this:
"Zero Hour unit A-12 to Control, enemy sighted advancing on my position."
"Received, A-12. Are you under fire yet?"
"Affirmative, the enemy has spotted me and are firing. Request permission to deploy 1-kiloton shell."
"Request received, stand by for arming code."
"Roger Control, Zero Hour A-12 standing by."

Interesting idea with a single flaw in it...
As powerful as the magnetic field can be, it will have to be open somewhere to allow the shell to pass out of the barrel.
This will not only result in the major part of the force to be exerted after the shell has passed the muzzle, but will also allow radiation to jump through...
Still, I like the concept for it ^^

Yeah, that's what I meant... the magnetic bottle contains the blast for a moment, then opens at one end and the energy is ejected outward by the m-bottle collapsing in on itself, effectively SQUEEZING the blast out. There is no shell though, it's basically a sort of super-plasma weapon.
Ahh...so you're using the resultant nuke blast as a short range ray weapon...hmmmm, interesting concept...problemis, it's kinda got a limited reach
Plus, Plasmaweapons are raped over in every video game so much, it's got nothing to do with actual plasma weaponry XDDD

On multiple levels, heh... 1: I could finally understand the lyrics of Rammstein and Megaherz, two of my favorite bands. 2: I could read the posts people make here on FA. 3: I could read the various stories posted to Yiffstar. And 4: my aunt lives in Germany, and has been trying to get me to come visit for a long time now. I've been putting it off because I want to be able to converse with people there without having to have someone to translate.
