Saw some newer pics fromm Immelmann and I thought I'd go ahead and draw my Martian again. As you can see I've revamped a few things since he did the ref sheet for the species. Changed the eye color and stripe color.
Relox sat in his living room back home on Mars in just his diaper and t-shirt. A holo screen was on just in front of him as he tapped away at the controls and began to finalize some calculations. He was on vacation but he promised a friend he'd help out a lil bit in plotting a course that would take them by some interesting stellar phenomenon. As he sat there typing and crinkling now and again as he shifted in his seat the door chime rang. Relox grinned hearing it as his ears perked up.
"Oh. I wonder if that's it!" Relox grinned as he hopped out of his chair and made his way to the front door. After taking a look through the door viewer he noticed the box outside. It only took him a second to run out the door onto his front porch. "Yeah! I came! It came!" Relox cheered as he looked over the package.
Relox had ordered this about a week ago. It was a new Android that had been out for about a month. He discovered it when reading an article on it. The Immelman Mobile Sex Toy. The name at first made Relox shake hsi head but as he read and found out the various other features besides just sex this android could do. Such as be a more than willing participant in diaper play and an able made he decided to save up some one and finally order one. Now it had come. Relox couldn't wait to get it inside, dress it up and let the fun begin.

Well generally it's just easier for me to do initial work in MSpaint and then to use the Bendy line tool to go over my initial sketch. It's what I've always done. Looking back I notice that the main problem is I was doing larger sized pics initially. I used to sketch on paper and then scan and do the line art in MSpaint. Because it was something scanned it was bigger and the Blur did it's job of only smoothing the lines. But I notice now that with smaller lines for what are now smaller pics it's not having the same exact effect.
I know I could just use the Pen tool in GIMP for the line art but I've tried it before and it just feels so time consuming and then that means due to the anti-aliasing lines I've gotta use multiple layers for coloring the picture. Which means if I want to save as I go I have to save it as a GIMP file and I just don't like having a bunch of them laying around or only having them long enough to finish and then deleting them.

Just... make a folder for all your GIMP files. What's the problem with that? IT means that at a later date, if you need to, you can change or fix things with the picture.
I have .psd and .sai files of all the art I draw, and I keep them forever. Each comic I do is usually multiple files.
You really need layers, dude, it really makes things faster and easier once you get the hang of it.

Ah Maybe your right. I dunno. I just don't like doing everything in GIMP. And I do use layers. I just don't use many of them. Usually I only use two. One for the character and one for the background. Sometimes more when dealing with stuff. Like for this one. I used a third layer to do the designs on the box while leaving an untouched base that I could select and then use that selected area to shat each panel individually.
Here's a little tip for you, Lig: trace the drawing in black marker or pen, then in gimp go to colour > threshhold. It'll turn everything black and white and make linearting a whole lot easier. You'll have to touch it up here and there, but it's a lot quicker than doing it manually on the computer.
