The story's location in the timeline is debateable, certainly more historic especially given the uncle's spiel refering to the Tsar,
a element which likely would loose it's luster if you have to go fight in a big space war for the big space goverment.

Though the method of getting Yersin soldiers and struggles that come about with such things have likely not changed much.

Though thinking about it gives me a interesting way to expand this story in the future ^_^
