(LOUD?) Theme with rain + drum & bass
A new demo track of mine, created to test a new pair of high quality headphones.
Well, I say new, but it's a pair I've had before. JVC "Xtreme Xplosive" headset, with HD quality and built-in HEAVY bass boost. The last pair I owned broke when I stepped on them with a ski boot (srsly) and crushed them to death. Almost a decade later I decided to buy myself a new pair, as I've tried many headphones since and just haven't found a pair that hits the same.
When it comes to my music, you could say I'm a bit of a metalhead as well as a bass head. The impact, noise, and volume of music is what feeds my soul. So when it comes to composing my own tracks? Well, I think my new plain will be to lean into that factor. Have fun making noise that sounds best with a loud boomy atmosphere.
In this track we hear a loop of rain sfx with a touch of piano, rough violin strings, some unnecessary synths breaking into your skull, and a catchy little drum beat. I think the drum is what I'm most proud of here. The piano and rain were just premade audio loops from Mixcraft. But the titsy little drum hits and the strings? That was all me, baby! Yes, I'm bad at music, I know. But when fumbling around in a drum kit tool, I unintentionally stumbled on a really good beat that caught my ear. Literally twitched my fingers on the keyboard and made the first bit of that happen, and decided to follow the rhythm of the premade piano track. First time in a while I felt immersed in hitting a tune onto the keyboard. Needless to say I think these beefy headphones are definitely my style and are gonna help me feel things out when I try to compose on my own.
