Looks good. I have seen leagues worse Furry Marine artwork on DA. Most of the issues I have is with the perspective. The Bolt Pistol should be much larger, and the leg on the rock looks a little funny.

Don't jump straight into commissions. You need a good backlog of examples for that, and your gallery is a little bit sparse ^_^;; Open yourself to reuests of Sci-fi armour characters. Don't worry about backgrounds too much. simple stuff like the ground and anything right next to the character(s) would be fine.

I can see this is a few years old, but hopefully you can find the inspiration to do more towards this ^_^
