I've played a lot of Rogue-Likes in my day and if there's nothing I dislike more than a Food & Water system that suggests your hero is constantly fighting against a wasting illness is overly restrictive inventory systems. Granted it makes a lot of sense in universe; until somehow a spell scroll, a flask and a 70lbs suit of armor all take up the same amount of space in your backpack. There are few rogue-likes that I feel really get this balanced right (for example, one that I've been revisiting in recent weeks; Castle Of The Winds for Windows 3.1 which only accounts for Bulk and Weight for anything put inside of a container), but I can concede that ease of readability and use probably trumps making everything make sense from a practical standpoint. And any good adventurer, much like Rift here, knows what you REALLY gotta save those inventory slots for...
