Jo'ey is a professional wrestler who also teaches self defense class for women on the side, but her main ambition is to make it onto the Olympic team. Her reasons are partly to be an inspiration to her students but also to deal with a trauma from her youth and prove to herself she isn't that same helpless youth anymore and she can move on from it.

When she was in her early teens she was an early bloomer which earned her the attention of a lot of boys, but unfortunately also of some predators who kidnapped her after school one day on her way home after missing her bus. Though she managed to escape from the cellar of the abandoned house they locked her in before anything else happened, but while she was climbing out through the rusty grate one of the abductors clawed a chunk out of her tail. Thankfully she found her way to a nearby road and waved down a passing car before they could capture her again. This is why she wears a bandage or a tail sleeve on her tail these days to hide those scars and the memories. Ofcourse being 6 foot 11 means that she often has to go up against some predator species who are in the same size and weight catagory, but she channels that desire for revenge to her advantage rather than cower so as such she is known as a fiercely agressive opponent which earned her the respect even of predator species to take her serious in a fight.
