Continuing Spooktober with another drawing!
Has you can see, this one represents Metroid, a series known for having its own share of creepy elements. And in this moment based on either the first Metroid for NES or the Zero Mission remake for GBA, Here's Samus about to face a terrifying Metroid deep inside the hellish hallways of Tourian. Good thing she has the Ice Beam equipped, otherwise she would end up becoming Metroid lunch just like that Zebesian in the background ;)
I made the sketch for this on September, but I decided to finish it in this very month to fit with the scary October season, especially since Metroid is the closest thing to an actual horror series when it comes to Nintendo franchises. Yeah, it's mainly an adventure and science fiction series, but Metroid is inspired by Alien, a series well known for its horror content, and let's not forget the downright scary parts in the games, such as the claustrophobic mood of Metroid II or the chases from Fusion and Dread!
And speaking of that, this picture was inspired by both the cutscenes from Zero Mission and the cinematography work of the first Alien film. It's neat to do Metroid fanart, since the series has such an impressive amount of artworks that are great to analyze and compare, especially with how Samus' Power Suit has been designed through the years ^^
