Just in time for HELL-o-WEEN....! Here we have a phenomenal use of shadows and shading along the edges and crevices of the muscle as they are covered by a dark grey fur, it must have been very difficult to find the right balance of light work to show this. The vermillion tinged eyes are a devilish touch, making him look sinister and evil. I haven't read his backstory so I'm not entirely sure if he actually IS evil, but he LOOKS like a real demonic entity.
The external fangs jutting out above his lips are eerie and creepy looking, great work on the protrusions of flesh around the upper canines as they go into his skull and jaw. The red skeletal eagle-like hook at the end of his nose is especially bewildering and very scary.
I love the 'torn cloth' outline of the oval reveal-veil he is standing in. Looks like something straight out of a horror movie poster, haha. Very, very clever usage of foreshadowing. Or it could even be spider silk, open to interpretation.
The pale blue-lilac color of his scales is just gorgeous to behold. It almost looks like he is being illuminated by the moonlight on those parts of his body. Damn, what a demonic STUD!!!

It's funny... I didn't even think about Halloween when drawing this picture. It was just... well... time to draw him. ^^
My friend and I designed him on paper some weeks ago... and I turned the sketch into a digital, clean drawing. I could've done it any other day or weekend... but hey, it does also fit to a dark, spooky time... does it not?
^^
The lighting is rather flat... right from above and the front. But it serves the character well. After all, his skin/fur/feathers is supposed to look shiny as hell!!!
XD
His character has yet to be developed... but nope, he's neither evil nor good. He's an officer in something you could call some kind of "police force". He's loyal, ambitious and strong. He can be brutal if the situation requires it... but he's not evil.
^^
The head is a cool mix of avian, canine, dragon and feline features a scary mix indeed!
^^
The outline of the oval background is a style I've copied from the original drawings appearing in the book "AMYGDALA". And the artist "Flup" also designed the backgrounds just like that.
It was some kind of inspiration and homage to the original creator!
^^
The purple scales are very important: The serve as protection and can also smash through things with ease.
Like I said... he's very tough and strong!

The more I stare at his nimble, dark body, the more I wonder what's under that dusky bush of pubic hair that he has going on, in his nether-regions. I must... I must EXPLORE!!! Don the excavating equipment and lightbulb-hats, we are going into a new dimension, ye hearties..!!!
Don't you just want to cup your hands around his purple leathery patches of hardened skin and just rub up and down, over and over again, feeling the cascading bulges come in and out with the tide of your fingers? You know you want to.
Again, I love how bulge-y the biceps are, especially the right one. Feels like you could wrap both of your arms around it and just hug and squeeze until the end of time. That would be a good life.

No problem, I love made up words too. Tig Notaro is a comedian from the american deep south, and she used to say that she would 'tump' things over if she hit them by mistake.
"Careful, don't tump it over!"
Even though that word doesn't actually exist, it was delightful to hear her express herself that way. The king of language you can FEEL, you know?
