Yes. She's from Louisiana, which has a high proportion of Christians of various stripes (no pun intended, ha ha). And as is often the case in my pics, such an icon in the art is meant to symbolize aspects of the scene or character. And anyway, religious context on St. Patrick's Day? How did I come up with that? (Answer: I was drinking.)
Actually I've always thought of her as being specifically from Lafayette... which is probably never going to show up in anything, let alone a story, since I've never been to Lafayette and know essentially nothing about it.

Still, she is a prime quality character that is easy to develop details and history for her that is plausible, even if it is guesswork.
