Alain Velours, often (begrudgingly) going by the initials/nickname "Avie," is a French-American LaPerm and chronically anxious Scaredy-Cat. He frequents Lackadaisy speakeasy for the company mostly, though the drinks help take the edge off.

Though his accent is not think, he was originally born in France, having moved to the US to avoid conscription during the Great War, subsequently draft-dodging upon the American entry.

It is speculated that his phlegmatic temperament was due to his time working in a Sanatorium during the Tuberculosis and Spanish Flu outbreaks.
