It takes a lot of effort, patience and practice to become a good leader. I'm sure Deep Dirt will get there, he just needs to grow into his new role a bit more. Good thing he has Life to look out for him and guide his actions. And good thing the All Mother does too. She also needs that support and guidance. I'm really glad Life's there and his wisdom can help all the little feet survive.
I'm curious... are yinglets so communal that they see nothing wrong with barging into someone else's house and stuffing their faces with everything in the pantry like this was Middle Earth and they were a pack of hungry Dwarves descending on a humble Hobbit?
I notice Life wasn't complaining that they were eating Drift's supplies, but rather that they were eating them too quickly. And as to the "You can take what you're already eating", that's mighty generous considering it's someone else's pantry.
