Hehe, he's not having the best time! This is actually based on some happenstances within a dwarf fortress save. On the left- I got a tame bobcat with traits such as polite, compassionate, and 'enjoys parties and merrymaking'. Even though she was a militarily assigned creature, she's ended up spending a lot of time in the library with the scholars who trained her. On the right- there was a dwarf in my fortress who ended up having 70 pet cats @~@ they were an fps killer, and it was a whole stampede whenever he walked through a hallway or stairwell. In this image, I imagined him picking one up to move through the throng unscathed. With 70 cats, I couldn't imagine he'd have been the best owner to them, despite his good intentions haha. Often they were in such close proximity that they'd start fighting, scratching and batting at eachother. His heart is in the right place, but good lord does he have a bit of learning to do about proper cat care...!!

Although.... You've got me on one aspect of lotr-adjacent references hehe. Whenever I draw dwarves, I'm always very inspired by the designs of the Rankin Bass 77' Hobbit! It had such a huge artistic impact on me as a kid.

I wonder what univers those dwarf come from ( if they come from warhammer old world or classic battle those cats will come handy to morally support them)
