It is Jennie Hart who wears the pumpkin costume. I feel like Jennie would try to reclaim the pumpkin from being a symbol of roundness, to one of thinness. Of course, she emphasizes her heavily corseted waist to try and make that happen.
This was a very fun costume to design. It was cool to design a pumpkin outfit within the guidelines of Jennie's character. How to make a pumpkin prim and proper. I made a pillbox hat based on the top of a pumpkin, the belt and straps based on the leaves, and the bodice and skirt, the base.
