Hello everycreature and happy nightmare night to all of you!
To celebrate the occasion I have created a new artwork featuring two of our favorite dragons, as always, being silly and cutie this night in which everycreature should be wearing costumes hehe.
I'm not a big fan of drawing costumes to be honest. It can be really hard and also it is really easy to just lose the whole anatomy, and of course, the diapers during the process, but I think this was a great chance to try out something different and seeing what was I able to do with this. I liked pretty much the result including how I worked the perspective and the lights and shadows under the moon.
I'm sure those two cutie dragons will enjoy their well deserved candies. I just wonder which will be next year costumes hehe.

Oh, wow! This is extra adorable, Sweetie. I can also understand how difficult it is to draw costumes on Goldigony and Spike.
Clothing is hard to draw on a character. When I could still physically see well enough to draw, the clothing I would put on my characters always appeared 'flat'. The best I could do was attempt different amounts of shading, as I was quite fond of using colored pencils, to give the clothing some appearance of it being more than if the character had just painted clothes over their body. <LoL!>
Not too surprising, the article of clothing I did do 'okay' with was a diaper. Simple lines helped to show the 'thickness' of the diaper along with how it fit around a characters waist / midsection along with their upper thighs. (I also was not very good at drawing a waist / crouch region of a character that appeared symetrical / even. The diaper helped me to make better looking legs by giving me a kind of reference for where the knees should be while hiding my lacking talent for drawing the space that seperates the torso from the legs.).
***
Back to the drawing, could you tell me who is wearing the Dragonite costume and who is wearing the Charizard costume? I have an idea for a fun story, but I want to make sure I do not write Spike and Goldigony wearing the wrong costume for their Nightmare Night adventures.

Hehe all you describe is really true Yosh. Drawing cloth puts you on a real test as an artist, it requires a deeper understanding of volume and physics of materials which is really hard to learn. I'm not even close to get properly those skills to work on my artworks this part better, but, I try my best at least.
Talking about diapers it can be really hard to draw them symmetrical, it usually requires some asymmetry due to the view angle, since it isn't common that your character looks you exactly from the front, in the part of adding volume, wrinkles are best allies in my opinion, you can always look a diaper look better if you use them properly, as well as the curves, curves following the belly and the legs, big allies too.
Answering your question, Goldigony is wearing charizard costume and Spike is wearing dragonite costume.

I am glad you do not allow yourself to become discouraged from all the challenges that go into making art. There are some parts of an artwork that, I believe, someone can have a natural talent for. (My sister, before her cataract surgery, could draw landscapes that looked beautiful no matter how limited the art software, or available pencils, paper, etc., was. She stopped enjoying art after the cataract surgery and it made me very sad. She, unlike me, still has 'usable' eyesight and could have used a lot of adaptive technology to continue doing art. It was her choice to stop and, as much as I wish she did not, I understand how losing a large amount of physical eyesight could result in wanting to no longer do something for how it no longer feels fun to do.).
What do you think is the easiest part of an artwork for you to draw?
I felt really confident about drawing a Yoshi nose / face by the time my physical eyesight became too poor to enjoy making physical art. I also got really confident in my diaper designs, symbols / logos, and had begun to a much better job in drawing a Scorchio and Zafara, which both are Neopets[/i].
Lucca and I, once we can better organize our living situation, want to try to make paintings. This would be fun for me as I would really like to discover how well I can create something without the aid of eyesight. Perhaps I will develop a likable style that is appealing to those who have the eyesight to see it? :)

"There you go, Spike," cooed Twilight Sparkle as she helped the purple-colored, baby dragon into his costume. "I can't wait to hear every creature go gaga over how cute you look as a darling Dragonite!"
Twilight clapped her hooves with joy as Spike's roomate, Goldigony, stuck out her tongue and made a gagging sound.
"I'm so glad I decided to dress up as Charizard for Nightmare Night," she remarked with a huff. "Dragons are not supposed to be cute, you know."
"Now, Goldigony," said Princess Celestia in a warm and calming voice. "Any creature can be whatever they want to be on Nightmare Night."
Goldigony looked away from the white-coated, Alicorn princess and sighed out a 'Harumpf' of smoke from her nose.
"Well," the purple-coated Unicorn eagerly stated while gesturing a hoof towards the well lit and busy street in front of them. "This will be you and Spike's first time going out for Nightmare Night where Princess Celestia and I will be keeping an eye on you from a short distance away. So, if things get too scary, we won't be too far away to give you both warm hugs of encouragement."
Goldigony rolled her eyes at the thought she would need any type of namby-pamby pony affection to get through Nightmare Night without a hand to hold.
"Come on, Spike," she growled while reaching for his hand and pulling him out onto the streets of Canterlot. "We've got candy to hoard."

As the moon bearing the silhouette of Nightmare Moon's face rose into the sky, both costumed dragons were well on track to filling their candy sacks to their maximum capacity.
"Hey, Goldigony," giggled Spike as he waddled alongside his green-colored, dragon friend. "What did that pink Pegasus think you were dressed up as?"
"A bat lizard with wings," she replied with a glaring stare towards her giggling friend as smoke burst from her nose. "And stop laughing because it's not funny!"
Spike did his best to stop laughing, but found it hard after all the comments he and Goldigony got from those ponies who were giving out candy on this Nightmare Night.
"They're not wrong, you know," he said between giggles. "Charizard is not a dragon type Pokemon like Dragonite is."
"It is, too, a dragon!" the agitated, older dragon replied. "It has wings, scales, breathes fire, and roars with pride before going into battle against those Pokemon stupid enough to pick a fight with it!"
Spike could tell he was annoying Goldigony with his remarks, but he was having too much fun on this night of going door-to-door to stock up on candy to let Goldigony's sour mood ruin the wonderful time he was having.
"Didn't those Earth Ponies a few houses back say that you had a cute tummy?" he asked while knowing how Goldigony would react to being reminded of being given such a compliment.
"That's only because my diaper got all bunched up in the front!" she snarled. "And it's not like your diaper is any less soaked than mine is!"
"Well," Spike continued to tease. "My Dragonite costume was made to compliment my diaper butt. Yours, well, is like a diapered version of that mane cut they call a mullet."
Goldigony stopped and stomped her foot upon the ground in protest.
"Dragons don't wear diapers!" she roared. "Only stupid ponies wear diapers!"
Twilight Sparkle and Princess Celestia noticed that a crowd was gathering to see the tantrum that Goldigony had started to throw over how her costume was not seen in the way she had wanted it to be.
"You and I both need diapers, Goldy," replied Spike with a shrug. "It'd make a big mess if we didn't wear our diapers until we finished our potty training back at school."
Goldigony was seething with anger. In order to release her pent up frustration, she angled her face to the sky and let out a mighty 'ROAR' as a giant plume of dragon fire erupted into the night sky that fizzled out in a beautiful flash of sparkly colors.
CLOP-CLOP-CLOP
Goldigony gasped as she became aware of the audience of ponies that had gathered around her and Spike as ponies of all ages cheered over the beautiful presentation she had made with her fire breath.
"Aren't they so cute!" one spectator could be heard saying.
"That lizard bat costume is truly a work of genius!" a distinguished-sounding pony called out.
"They're both so cute!" a high-pitched mare swooned. "Who knew dragons were just so darn adorable!"
Goldigony had started to wildly stomp about as she roared as best as a fledgling dragon could possibly roar. This could have been seen as scary if it was not for the burps of sparkling, colored fire that belched out with each growl she released.

"Alright," giggled Princess Celestia as she used her golden aura of magic to pick up Goldigony and sit her on top of her back. "I think someone is ready for bed."
Spike playfully chuckled as both he and his costume wibbled and wobbled during his journey back to sit himself upon Twilight Sparkle's back.
"I'm ready," he yawned while leaning himself into the purple-coated Unicorn's neck. "Best night ever."
Goldigony wanted to protest being treated like a hatchling in front of so many ponies, but the warmth of Celestia's back coupled with the blanket-like feel of her Alicorn wings quickly put the upset dragoness into a calm and restful state.
"Next year," she yawned while curling herself into Celestia's soft fur. "I'll show them how not cute dragons are."
The crowd parted while giving their compliments to Princess Celestia and her pupil for having helped to make their Nightmare Night one of the best they ever got to experience within the capitol city of Equestria.

Hehe really lovely story Yosh. I liked a lot how you represented Goldigony here, like the grumpy, but interested baby dragon she is. She loves candies, but hates being treated as a cute creature and all the baby stuff related. Having Celestia and Twilight next to them was a really nice and motherly touch hehe. I especially loved the post of the bat lizard, Goldie getting crazy spiting fire, and the princeces talking them to bed.
Amazing story as always Yosh. Spoiler, I have more upcoming artworks of this two in holidays, please tell me you'll write their respective stories, please don't disappoint me hehe. They will be so cute for sure.

Your work inspires me so much, Sweetie. As long as you do not mind me making and sharing stories based upon what your art inspires my imagination to create, I will always find ways to make stories for you to share.
My favorite part of being in our creative community is being able to 'collaborate' with others on those concepts that make my imagination fill with color and warmth. I may have never physically seen your art, but it always makes my mind fill with motion and color. Thank you for allowing me to share what I see through what you kindly share with everyone here on FA.
