Synta for me. For whatever hang-ups the Jedi got, they're a damn sight better than the Sith. The latter are acknowledged to be unrepentant cretins who victimize innocent people, among other heinous things.

I do the same thing for my Mandalorian version of my character. Cynical and distrusting sure, but still committed to honorable conduct and behavior, and uses extreme violence and bloodshed for those who really have it coming.
