New ID for a little while. Bailey the young red tail hawk landed on my head instead of the falconer's glove. Nerd.

He is on her head. He had amazingly gentle feet for what he could have done! He seemed to know to be gentle when he was landing on people - though obviously it's a bad habit for a bird of prey!

How are red tails for falconry? I don't think I've ever seen someone train one. There are so many of them around, though!

They are starter birds for those getting into falconry. They are sometimes looked down upon by people who fly falcons or "longwings" because red tails get into dusty battles with rabbits, whereas falcons make clean swoops and take out birds like anime sword slices.

That's right! Only cool hawks get to hang there...hawks that can hang onto their rabbits! So, no we didn't get to hang with the cool kids. Ended up at the am/pm with the owls. >:C
