This is a new type of fugue I invented recently. Basically, one fugue begins and 2 or more voices are stated with one subject. After all of the voices belonging to the first fugue enter, the second fugue begins in consort. As the first fugue continues exposition, the second fugue introduces its voices each stating the second fugal subject. Once all voices have entered, an episode is used to modulate back to the starting key so the piece may continue as a standard fugue but with both fugal subjects playing at once. At the end, both subjects morph until they are indistinguishable and the piece is ended with motifs of both subjects but in an agreeable fashion.
This concept could be extended to three, four, or even several fugal subjects!
the last 8 measures of this piece feature compound octuplet stretto - something that is EXTREMELY rare in composition.
