Yeah, it’s been a while since I posted anything. Just needed some time to draw in private, away from the internet.
You’re leaving DA? Funny, the text in your drawing here is appropriate for the trajectory of the place: still standing, but nothing like it used to be. Sorry it’s come to that point, though.
Aside: do you know about the deviation storage feature? It’s a hidden function in Eclipse, but the link still exists. It’s a way that you can hide all of your deviations from public view without losing any of the comments or favs. Useful if you’d like to keep an archive instead of total deletion.

That is a good thing man! To draw in private. I'm on a similar path right now. Really want to get away from the habbit of drawing and feel the need to post it immediately. Drew 3 pics over the span of half a year and didn't post them. Tried out to post them one last time on DA and fuck it.
Haha you are right! Somehow the text is tranferable to DA too. Yeah it's time to say goodbye to that site. Nothing of value there anymore. Just bots, AI shit and empty accounts. I only focus on artists I know now. Meaningful connections you know. And it's nice that FA doesn't have an app. Really slows things down.
Oh that's interesting! Didn't know about that. I think I'll probably innitiate a full deletion though. The people/artists that I care about are here so there is no reason to stay there even if it's only for backup or nostalgia.

I think the internet can be a double-edged sword for artists: connecting with others over art can be great and inspiring, but it’s also easy to fall into the trap of working in a detrimental way or worrying about how the artwork looks. So, yeah, I’m a big fan of unplugging and being a weird hermit now and then. Let the art breathe and grow without the pressure to make it presentable to others. May you draw interesting things in darkness!
That’s fair enough, just wanted to mention it exists. It’s good to be able to keep in touch with people and art that interests you. I’m not scrubbing my DA account yet, but I have not decided if I’m going to use it again. That can be a decision for another day. For now, I’m still in hermit mode.

Absolutely! I agree! It's truly a blessing and a curse at the same time. Like you said it's refreshing to deconnect for sometime and draw for yourself in the darkness (I really like that actually :D) Shut off all the destructive thoughts and only concentrate on drawing. Not for anyone, not to get a pretty look out of it, only pure feelings put into it.
I don't think that it's weird to be a hermit from time to time! It's rather likeable! I'm a hermit full time in real life, so I completely understand you!

I picked the few ones I want to stay in contact with allready, including you, so it's decided that I'll leave xD Was really easy since I only have 39 watchers there. A few aren't here or on other sites unfortunately. Maybe I'll send them a PM for future contact.
That is completely legit! To take things slowly. No rush! I thought about it for quite some time though and the decision stands. But it's allways good to really think hard about certain decisions.

Yeah, the internet can be a wonderful thing and a terrible thing both at the same time. Especially in the age of social media I think it’s important to be able to walk away and get some space.

I appreciate it. I was pleasantly surprised to see your (new) name in my inbox. FA is certainly uh, interesting, lol, but there seems to be a community here, and no AI flooding is a very nice bonus.
