Being twins Marcus Akenna and Madeleine Silandro were very close for most of their lives. Being born first Madeleine is heir to the throne of Aldenea and when he got old enough to realize what that would entail Marcus really didn't mind being the "baby brother."

Twins are rare for Inzri, with the rate being something like 1 in 20,000 births. It is also uncommon to have multiple young children at the same time. Inzri commonly live to 300 years old and are considered adult at 25. When getting pregnant is a difficult process and children grow quickly most don't see much of a reason to have a bunch of little ones running around. This all boils down to most families having at most four or five children, which leads to slow population growth for Inzri.

Also, no one changes their names in a marriage. Fathers pass their family name to their sons and mothers to daughters. If for some reason either parent is not around then exceptions will be made.
