After a massive falling out between two best friends, one manipulates the other into doing her work for her until the victim finally snaps.Forced RepercussionsJubilee and Ivy used to be best friends; that's the relationship between the two girls. But a sudden turn of events leads to the two as mortal enemies. Now after a series of events impacting their friendship and daily lives, the two girls are now enemies, having separated and cut ties with each other for good. However, one of them had some loose ends to tie up, and to do that, she was going to force her former best friend to do it. But what better way than a subtle plot to lure her into a trap?
One particular day, everything just spiraled out of control with things happening fast, each event pulling Jubilee left and right. It all started when Jubilee had just returned from a trip of her own to pick up a few things. Just normal business and errands of her own.
Entering the front door of her home, the young girl calls out, "Mom, I'm home!!!" No answer.
Silence envelopes the entire house, leaving Jubilee to call out again. The same result is silence, so the girl begins some searching to find her mother. This is not like her normal days when coming home from errands. Usually, Jubilee's mother is there to greet her back but this time is different; it is almost as if her mother has disappeared.
"Mom!! Where are you??!!" Jubilee calls out again for the third time. No response comes back, but a sudden cry from across the home catches Ivy's attention.
"Jubilee??!! Is that you??!! Come over here and help me out!!!" It's Jubilee's mother; she's in trouble from the sound of things. Immediately, Jubilee rushes to meet her and receives a terrifying sight: her mother is tied to a chair with her arms and legs bound to the chair by black ropes. On the circular table next to her is a large case with what appears to be a heavy sniper rifle inside. There is also a tape recorder beside it too.
Jubilee's heart sinks in her chest while taking in the pitiful sight of her restrained mother. At the same time, her heart starts to burn with rage at whoever did this to her. The first thing Jubilee focuses on is freeing her mother.
Jubilee retrieves a pair of scissors from a nearby drawer, going on to use these to set her mother free. While cutting the ropes in a careful manner, the young girl questions her mother. "Mom, what happened? Who did this to you?"
The mother shakes her head slowly, unable to fully remember how she ended up like this. "I don't know, Jubie. The last thing I remember is walking home when everything went black. There was no attack from behind that I can remember, so that makes it more suspicious."
Sighting the tape recorder on the table next to the sniper rifle, Jubilee already has a pretty good idea of who the prime suspect could be, yet she keeps silent for now, not wanting to freak her mother out even more. She can either save the conversation for another time or inspect the tape recorder.
After setting her mother free, Jubilee tosses the scissors aside, hearing them land back inside the drawer while checking out the items on the table. Her mother also notices the gun and tape recorder on the table and she immediately grows suspicious, having deduced who tied her up.
"Jubie, do you remember a certain girl you used to hang out with? She is nothing but complete trouble now! I was skeptical about her at first, but it had gone away; now look where we ended up!" The mother asks simply, turning to gaze at her daughter in reason.
Thinking nothing of it, Ivy simply responds, "Well there is this certain girl that I used to hang out with; we were best friends. We used to hang out a lot but…" she then trails off, slowly coming to a sudden realization. "No… it can't be! It can't be her!!"
The mother raised an eyebrow at her daughter, quite suspicious of her daughter's friend but at the same time concerned for not only her daughter's safety but also her own.
Before they can move on, Jubilee begins to question her mother on what went down. "Mom, what happened for you to end up this way?"
The mother begins to explain, "The last thing I remember is walking home from the store when I felt something hit me on the back of my head. That's the last thing I remember before blacking out and waking up how you saw me just moments ago."
Jubilee's suspicion grows more when she develops a mental picture of the scene that her mother is describing to her. It takes a moment for her to consider the culprit responsible but upon perceiving a general idea of who could be responsible, Jubilee rear back in shock. "No!!! It can't be Ivy!!! It just can't be!!!"
"I am certain that it was her, Jubie. She ought to be glad I didn't receive a severe head injury! Have you still been in close contact with that girl?" The mother hissed firmly, giving off a warning tone to her daughter.
The young girl shakes her head slowly while appearing horrified to learn of her former best friend pulling off such a hateful deed such as this. Calling the police wouldn't work, really. The mother never saw her attacker, since that is one main part of a police report or 911 call on assault. Maybe there is another way Jubilee can be tracked down. But at the moment, no such work can be done for that right now. For now, all Jubilee and her mother can do is figure out where to proceed from here.
Taking note of the tape recorder, Jubilee hesitates to play it but upon receiving a strong nod of approval from her mother, she timidly plays the message, hoping at the very least that it wouldn't be her best friend. Little does she realize her worst fears are about to come true.
Jubilee plays the tape recorder and what comes on is a type of voice distortion that ends up speaking on the other end. What Ivy hears makes her pale.
"Hello Jubie! Just wanted to let you know that it's been a while since we last talked, but as far as right now, it's just business from here on out. I have some loose ends for you to complete for me and I want them done. You mess up and I will kill you and your family. I set up a sniper rifle for you to use in your job. Until then, Jubie, Ta-Ta!"The whole time the message plays on the tape recorder, Jubilee is left frozen in deep despair. The young girl is beyond horrified to learn that her former best friend is now her enemy, and through the voice scrambling system, she could recognize her speech. But upon learning of this, she breathlessly pales, "No… why would she turn on me like that? Ivy would never resort to murder!"
"No, but recognizing the speech pattern, this must be her. I remember you telling me that you two were close friends before. What happened?" The mother inquired.
Jubilee can only shake her head while explaining in a flustered panic, "I don't even know what happened! We had a massive falling out once, and our friendship just terminated from there. Now she's using me as a bargaining chip for her own personal benefit! I don't even know why she's choosing me out of all people!"
"She wants to see you suffer physiologically." Hearing her mother speak, Jubilee pauses to listen to what her mother is implying to her. "You two were former friends, so she wants to break that mentality by having you do her dirty work. The least I can tell you to do is close your eyes and don't look back. Wear noise-canceling headphones if you will. If this Ivy girl decides to carry out her threat of murdering me, then she won't get the chance."
Jubilee wasn't so confident of what her mother said, not even buying the information. She questions, "What makes you say that, Mom? What do you even mean?"
The mother explains, "What I mean is that this Ivy girl will move you to an assignment that you really wish you couldn't do, but once you complete it just to get it out of the way, you'll be so furious you'll snipe the girl herself."
Jubilee draws a breath and sighs, "I hope it doesn't come to the point where children are involved, then that's when I'll never forgive myself." While her daughter shakes her head in despair, the mother offers one crucial piece of advice, "Jubilee, listen to me - don't give in to despair. That's what your ex-friend wants you to do. If children do get involved, some way, quit and hunt her down. Lure the police to her safehouse if you have to. Use whatever means to take that Jubilee kid down permanently."
"What in the world happened to the mother I used to know who liked Ivy - now she hates her." Although Jubilee cracks a joking remark, her statement now actually makes complete sense given the situation. Her former best friend knocks her mother out, ties her up, and threatens to kill her - of course Jubilee's mom changes her mind about Ivy now!
"Yeah, I used to like her because you and her were close, but now - puh-lease!" The mother crosses his arms while expressing her changed opinion about her daughter's former best friend, Jubilee. Now, she could care less about her - kick her to the curb if she has to!
This brings up another concern with Jubilee's forced assignment, where she mentions, "If I do take on this job, chances are I'll be chased by the police. If there was some way to prove my innocence, I'd lead them to Jubilee's safehouse and have her arrested in an instant. But how do I do that? They'll be gunning for me, and me only!"
That's where the mother leans forward to acknowledge the problem. In a straightforward way, she informs her daughter, "You can turn the tables on the situation by luring the police to her hideout. And then you will see just how reckless that Jubie girl is. But make sure you don't get caught up in the chaos."
Jubilee draws an agonized sigh, deflating in her posture. But when she observes the sniper rifle case on the table, anguish, fear, and anger cloud her mind. The mother warns her, "Jubie, don't let your emotions cloud your judgment. You're a pawn in her little game, so once you escape, you'll be able to get her back and get her in prison. You just need an attorney."
Jubilee shifts around in uncertainty. Here she is, about to go on a blackmailing run. Her former friend has turned against her, making her situation dire - what's to say that the young girl herself won't be targeted or killed by her former best friend? As long as she has support, it's not going to happen! With the encouragement from her mother, Jubilee begins to slowly relax. She is still scared, but knowing the danger she's diving into, she's ready to tackle the job head-on.
With one last parting hug to her mother, Jubilee resolves, "Mom, I will be back. But if I happen to die in the process, then know that I always love you!"
The mother assures her daughter, "I love you too, Jubie; I got your back! Remember, just call me for advice or when you're through! And don't forget to change your clothes and secure a safehouse!"
~~~~~For the job, Ivy provided Jubilee with enough information to carry out her assigned tasks, but she did a little extra work in providing a means of escape - a red Mercedes SLR McLaren. The sleek, low exotic was one of many choices that Jubilee had kept secret before revealing it to Jubilee via another cassette recording - the information given provided useful guidance in escaping police should they arrive at the scene or come for her.
Riding along the Palm Harbor Causeway in the red SLR McLaren, Jubilee listens to another cassette recording, this time of her first job.
"Once again Jubie, this is just business - nothing personal. My first proposition for you is to assassinate a series of targets I have listed. First off, I have a target for you. He is at Palm Harbor - I want you to snipe the guy hanging around the truck stop. You'll find him wearing a red baseball cap. I wanted some money from him concerning a delivery job and he blew me off. Snipe him."Jubilee draws a breath of discontent. Things didn't have to be this way, but with a former friend having a vendetta on some people, the young girl had no choice - especially when her mother was put in the line of danger. And to add insult to injury, Jubilee's former best friend is using her not only as a bargaining chip for her own ends, but also as a hired gun, having manipulated her to do her bidding. If the cops get involved, that will bring extra heat and trouble for her.
Making her way into Palm Harbor, Jubilee arrives at the spot and pulls into a local truck stop to carry out the first hit assigned to her. However, she will be in plain view of passing eyes, so she will need to find a hiding spot nearby. However, there are none nearby. But instead of being out in the open, Jubilee still has the opportunity to hide between the trailers or behind them.
Choosing to hide behind the trailers, Jubilee rolls her Mercedes SLR McLaren behind one of the tractor trailers parked in the truck stop, obscuring her vehicle from view. But while this obscures her from prying eyes, it also gives her a harder time in executing a perfect killshot. Unfortunately for her, her target begins to arrive and she has no time to prepare.
With time running out, Jubilee hurries to assemble the rifle together in carrying out the deadly plan. She manages to assemble the rifle together, and when she peeks out from behind her cover spot, Jubilee observes a white Kenworth T600B Aerodyne sleeper pulling into the truck stop, towing a white 53" trailer full of cargo. When the truck is shut off, the driver hops out. It is the last time he is seen alive.
*POW!*The man doesn't even see it coming until it's too late - he goes down with a sniper round to the face, instantly out of commission permanently. How in the world could a teenage girl execute a perfect sniper kill in one shot with no training, no exercise, and no experience? Desperation and sheer chance. This is her first kill, and there will be many more to go.
Having completed her first sniper kill, Jubilee beats a hasty retreat. Grabbing her sniper rifle, she hightails it back to her red Mercedes SLR McLaren and peels off, leaving her dead prey behind. It isn't long before a random bystander reports the gruesome scene to the police. Soon, word gets out and the police dispatcher puts out a search for the murder suspect.
:Attention all units - a murder has just been reported at the Indiana Truck Stop on Mountain Highway. Suspect was last seen fleeing in a red McLaren - a red Mercedes SLR McLaren. All units be on the lookout.::Dispatch, this is Unit 385, I'm headed up that way now. Just got done clearing a traffic stop.:Jubilee's first kill has gotten her sniffed out by the report from a bystander. Now it's only a matter of time until police swarm in on her location - if they can find her. And it doesn't take long for Jubilee to panic when she spots a Lamborghini Gallardo patrol car just down the road when she begins to turn. Jubilee panics and she floors the accelerator, slingshotting her SLR McLaren onto the Interstate.
:Dispatch - Unit 355; I'm in pursuit, driver spotted me and took off. Yeah, it's her! It's the suspect! I'm going after her. Give me some backup.::Copy that, Unit 355. Backup is on the way. All units exercise caution - suspect is armed and dangerous.:Panicking and flooring the gas, Jubilee pushes her lowriding Mercedes to speeds of over 150 mph, giving the cop a run for their money. There's just one problem - this girl is on the Interstate, going the wrong way into oncoming traffic. This is how innocent motorists get killed.
:Unit 75 - joining pursuit! Looks like she's on the wrong side of the road! Watch it, fellas!:Not paying attention can lead to disaster for drivers not aware of what's hurtling at them. Fortunately, oncoming cars are able to veer away from the red missile, but some are not so fortunate…
*STATIC!*:PC down - I got smoke!:The pursuing Gallardo struggles to keep up with the fleeing SLR McLaren while following down the wrong way of the interstate. It ends up eating a red Infiniti G35 traffic car in a head-on collision, destroying both cars on impact.
Jubilee exhales, "Looks like I'm in the clear but I gotta get off here!" If the girl thinks she's in the clear, she is unaware of more trouble brewing. After crossing over the median and blowing through soft construction blocks, Jubilee comes back to incoming lanes. The young girl searches for a way off Interstate 5 and almost destroys a Mercedes SLR McLaren police interceptor in the process - the black unmarked vehicle races off in pursuit to catch up.
:This is Unit 331 - target almost destroyed me. I'm going after her!::10-4! Use caution when apprehending! Suspect is armed and dangerous.:By the time Jubilee reaches an exit ramp to an interchange, she notices flashing lights behind her - a brand new series of flashing lights. And they're gaining on her quickly. The girl knows that if she's caught, not only is she going to jail but her former best friend will still be free - nobody will know of the blackmail going on between the two.
:Speeds are in excess of 150 mph! Permission to fall back?::That's a negative - a roadblock has been set up ahead of the pursuit. Over.:More flashing lights are ahead, this time belonging to a Nissan GT-R SpecV Super State interceptor. With the car blocking the left lanes, there is a spike strip taking up the middle and right lanes, both blocking the road. At triple digit speeds, it would be impossible to dodge a roadblock that easily, let alone a spike strip. If the cops think the sniper will stop, they're in for quite a surprise.
When Jubilee sees the police car and the spike strip, she squeezes her SLR McLaren into the shoulder, her left wheels missing the spikes just barely!
:Oh no way! No way! She missed it! Get another one going! Get another one going!::Attention all units - pursuit is now at Condition 3 - State patrol units are now taking control of the chase. Advise Civic units to discontinue and fall back.::This is Unit 46 - we can still tag her. We can reconsider and continue.::Negative, Unit 46. Discontinue and fall back. It's the command from HQ.::Copy that - terminating chase catch-up.:Upon reaching a new district of Tri-City Bay, Jubilee happens to catch sight of a billboard advertising the district in a welcoming sense. The sign reads: "Welcome to Port Crescent!"
"Port Crescent… maybe I can ditch the cops throughout the turns and curves of the place." Jubilee heads for an off-ramp leading to the district of Port Crescent. She figures she can lose the police in that area. But in her haste, she sideswipes a logging truck, dislodging its massive cargo and spilling the contents all over the roadway!
"Oops…" Jubilee steals a quick glance into her rearview mirror, distraught by the amount of damage caused by her rampant act. But what she doesn't know is that the accident ends up disabling the police cars chasing her in the process until she exits the freeway completely. However, her police scanner catches all the details she needs.
*STATIC!*:Dispatch, I'm out - PC down!::Attention all pursuit units - Suspect was last seen headed northwest along the Port Crescent Interchange. Units are advised to set up a perimeter around the target's last known location. Advise if situation updates. Over.:By this time, Jubilee is in a hiding spot inside of a parking garage adjacent to a hotel, leaving her virtually unreachable by the police. Eventually, they give up looking for her and go back to their normal routine patrol.
:All units, disregard chase. Suspect is still at large. You are clear to go mobile and return to regular patrol sweeps.::10-4, will advise. Over:After a tense moment of idle hiding, Jubilee finally huffs in relief. She can finally come out of her hiding spot. After a short drive to a nearby safehouse, the young woman enters to explore inside. This is going to be a place where she can lay low to avoid the fuzz for a while.
After parking her Mercedes SLR McLaren inside the safehouse, Jubilee kills the engine and begins to explore the safehouse for a while, taking time to relax and get to know the layout. Along the way, though, she notices another tape recorder on the glass table in the kitchen. At first, Jubilee grows curious and inspects the tape to make sure it's not booby-trapped. But then she decides against listening to it, not wanting to hear from her former friend ever again.
Although Jubilee takes a quick break to wash her hands, she considers briefly to herself, 'Hmph! That Ivy's got another thing coming to her! I'm not listening to that tape!' She turns melancholic upon realizing the current situation she is in now. 'Although, maybe I should. Ivy just tried to murder my own mother and unless I do something, she'll die. This has got to end at some point!'
After strolling back to the kitchen after drying her hands off, Jubilee picks up the tape recorder and plays the recording. It has the same voice and same voice scrambler as before.
"Hello Jubie, I assume you carried out the task? Everything's gone well, I assume? Well good for you! Here is your next assignment - I want you to drop a cop that's been terrorizing the city. He drives an SLR McLaren and acts like he owns the city. Drop him and run but do not let those pigs nab you. If you do, it will be the end of you and your mother, Jubilee. 'Til next time!""SHE WANTS ME TO DO WHAT??!!" Jubilee starts to flip out upon being given her next assignment - assassinate a corrupt police officer and bolt. Ironically, the car that Ivy gave Jubilee a description of is the same one that Jubilee herself almost destroyed during her first chase. If that SLR McLaren cop dodged the logging spill on that freeway off-ramp, chances are they could still be very well alive.
The young woman becomes scared. "She wants me… to assassinate a freaking cop?! She's crazy! The entire Tri-City Bay Police Department will be breathing down my neck for that! There is no way I can pull this off without attracting attention or escaping unharmed!"
In the midst of her panicking, Jubilee's cell phone rings and she quickly answers it, only to find her mother on the other end of the line. Surprised, she answers back, "Mom?? How did you even get this number??"
This time, the mother laughs at her daughter's questioning, finding her reasoning short. She mentions, "It doesn't take me that long to track down your new number. I did a little digging around and I happened to come across your new assignment. I've also been keeping up with the news too. Police are deep undercover in some sort of operation. Be careful."
When Jubilee fills her mother in on the new assignment, the matriarch can barely grasp the information - she is aghast. "What!? She wants you to kill a police officer??"
"That is the next assignment I've been tasked with. Otherwise, if I don't carry this out, you'll die Mom." Jubilee reminds her mother of Ivy's condition on the grounds of complete cooperation. But this second task is hard not only due to the size of the city alone but also the search for the police officer in particular.
On a side note, the mother mentions Jubilee's cell phone number in their discussion, "How I got your number - really Jubie? I know your number by heart and you have our house phone number saved in your contacts - you know that by heart."
The young woman sweats a little, laughing nervously. "Yeah, and I may have to change it… for security reasons…"
"And our home phone number too - provided we're allowed to switch and obtain a new home phone network. We'll think of something. But as of now, change your number and call me back so I know it's you. We can't afford to lose contact with each other." The mom insists on Jubilee switching her cell phone number in order to throw Ivy off. And this gives Jubilee a sudden idea - an idea she can put into motion at this very moment.
When Jubilee explains her idea to her mother, the older woman knowingly points out, "That'll be a good idea where she will least expect it - changing your number later will prove to be fitting for you and disastrous for her. She won't even know what's coming to her."
While it sounds like a pretty good idea to Jubilee, it could backfire on her at any moment. What she needs is a Plan B, one that is foolproof and effective. So far, no Plan B as of yet.
While Jubilee's Plan B has yet to be constructed, the young woman hangs up after one final goodbye from her mother. Then she goes back to exploring the safehouse she's in to find something useful which can assist her in finishing her second task. Her exploration soon yields an unexpected result sooner than she expected.
Throughout her exploration, Jubilee made her way through several rooms inside of the large safehouse. But one section appears to be cordoned off. It is a stairwell leading downstairs. A nearby light switch proves to be useful in illuminating the descending stairwell and Jubilee goes for it.
Stumbling into the descending stairwell, Jubilee comes across a basement of some sort. After feeling around inside and finding another light switch, she flicks that one on.
The light illuminates the basement, revealing a little room. There is a wooden desk inside, along with what appears to be some kind of suitcase lying on top of the desk. While it all looks suspicious to Jubilee, chances are she has a pretty good idea of what's inside.
The young woman curiously enters inside to inspect the basement room, searching for any signs of booby traps or other hidden dangers. Then, she turns her attention to the table and suitcase in the room. After accessing and unlocking the suitcase, Jubilee is presented with a Dell laptop upon popping open the case. Maybe that's how she'll get her second assignment done!
This is too easy so far for Jubilee's liking. But she's already alert, keeping in tune with the danger she's in. If she doesn't carry out this assignment, she knows what will happen. But how will she convince police to go after her former best friend after killing an innocent man and nearly destroying a police officer?
For the most part, time has been on Jubilee's side so far. And she begins to dive into her second mission - accessing the computer, the young woman is presented with a full-scale map of Tri-City Bay, along with a few pictures of her assigned target. Her intended target is Ivy but it will have to wait temporarily.
Along with the full-scale map of the entire city, Jubilee's safehouse location is marked by a green dot in the area. But cooldown and hiding spots are indicated by blue circles. To get to her intended target, Jubilee will have to infiltrate the police station or lie in wait somewhere undetected. The first option is practically suicidal, so Jubilee's best option is to get her target while undetected.
Doing a bit more research, Jubilee later manages to track down her target location at a local café. There is just one major problem - it is right next to the police precinct. If Ivy wants this guy dead, how would she herself be planning to do him in? Shuddering at the thought of her former best friend completely murdering an innocent cop - no, a police officer ,period, Jubilee prefers to do it the safe way - the rational way.
When Jubilee is done setting up her plan of action, she sets out to locate her target, hoping he is at the spot that was indicated on the computer.
~~~~~Arriving at the police precinct in Port Crescent, Jubilee quickly inspects the landscape - the cafe is ahead down the block and her target is there. But the young woman needs to hurry - when Jubilee escaped the first initial police pursuit, a warrant was made for her arrest for Murder, Reckless Driving, and Evading Police. Now if she carries out this second hit, she's going to add Murder of a Police Officer to her hitlist. But oddly enough, she isn't being pursued at notice, even though her red SLR McLaren is on display, a juicy, instantly recognizable target vehicle from last time. What Jubilee doesn't know is that Ivy, her former best friend, is actually secretly transferring funds to the Tri-City Bay police department to bribe them into not chasing down her former best friend, now her hitwoman. The tactic is working so far to her own benefit, and to Jubilee's confusion. What Ivy herself doesn't know won't hit her - yet.
Finally, Jubilee spots her assigned target, but the unmarked SLR McLaren is nowhere in sight. Problem? It could be. But after reviewing the information on her laptop, it was confirmed that this police officer target is the one driving said police car. Jubilee wastes no time in taking the shot but she needs to find a suitable cover spot so she won't be seen. She has to do it quickly or she'll lose her perfect opportunity.
A quick drive around of the city block and Jubilee spots the black SLR McLaren police car dead ahead. But she has to keep herself hidden to avoid detection. While she manages to reach an alleyway close to the police officer, the cop himself prepares to drive away. He has no idea of the impending danger he is in. Only when he begins to pull off will that moment possibly be his last.
Sitting in her red SLR McLaren, Jubilee has the sniper rifle ready with the passenger side window lowered completely. However, the black police car passes by amidst a hail of traffic, forcing Jubilee to take a critical chance. For public safety, she backs off and rolls her window up, now forced to follow her target directly. She rolls her passenger side window up and the chase begins.
Rolling out of the alleyway, Jubilee begins to tail the cop, making sure she does not lose sight of him. But there is a problem- with traffic involved, Jubilee is unable to line up and get a clear shot of her target. And if he hits the interstate, it'll become a high speed chase. If Jubilee wants to finish her second assignment, she'll have to take the shot - it's a risky move that may put her in further jeopardy.
It is a normal, simple drive at first. Jubilee keeps a considerable distance away from the police officer driving the SLR McLaren - made easier and harder by the traffic. But when the officer makes a right onto a side street, Jubilee hesitates before following him, turning onto the same street. While keeping her gaze fixed on the black Mercedes, the young woman whispers to herself, "Where are you going? Does he already know I'm following him?"
Finally, Jubilee catches a break - the road dead ends into a dirt trail and a trailer park is up ahead. Immediately, Jubilee stops her red SLR McLaren and turns it around while the cop stops his own car. Unaware of the danger he is in, the officer begins to exit his car. Suddenly…
*BAM!*A shower of red splatters around the car door with the officer dropping onto the ground with a smoking hole in his cranium. The police officer is now dead, killed instantly by the sniper woman. She quickly hops back into her SLR McLaren and peels away, having sealed the deal. Unfortunately, her little escapade does not go unnoticed, nor does her getaway appear unseen.
(🎵 Top-Flight Mechanics - Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 Soundtrack)Police sirens sound when a Lamborghini Gallardo Coupe police car engages the fleeing SLR McLaren as it drifts away onto the road, opposite the direction it came when following the black SLR McLaren.
:Dispatch, this is Unit 355. A vehicle just blew by me at an erratic pace. Going to check it out.:"Shoot! Not now! This is just great!" Just when Jubilee finishes her second assignment does she have cops on her tail already. Unfortunately for her, her vehicle is oddly familiar to the police.
:I'm behind the vehicle now; it's a red McLaren! It's the same car from our last pursuit!::Attention all units, pursuit status is at Condition 4 - additional State patrol units are now joining the chase. Super State units will now be joining and taking control of this pursuit. Over.:"If this is Heat Level 4, I can't imagine what Level 5 will be. Soon, I'm gonna be the most wanted person in all of Tri-City Bay!" Jubilee confirmed in realization. On recognizing her Heat Levels increasing, she comes to the realization that the higher her wanted level, the more powerful the response and the authorities at that. This is the last thing she wants. And while on the run, she makes that part of her plan in getting out of this whole mess up.
Careening onto a local highway, Jubilee hits the accelerator, bypassing a police roadblock of State Patrol muscle cars in the process - a Ford Mustang GT (Gen. 5) and a Dodge Challenger SRT8 (Gen. 2).
:Target got around the block! Still in pursuit!:It isn't long before the cops begin throwing up spike strips in their roadblocks, and at the high speed she's going, it's hard to dodge 'em, let alone notice them first.
:All units, heads up! This is 477-9 - spike belt in the center lane as you approach the roadblock! Stay on the outside! Stay on the outside!:In a humorous twist of irony, traffic begins to back up thanks to the roadblock covering the middle lanes! But the right lanes are the only ones open. With Jubilee sticking to the right lanes, she zooms past the small traffic blockage, completely missing the spike strip while tagging the rear left side of a Dodge Challenger SRT8 State Patrol Unit, knocking it away. Though rattled inside her car, Jubilee continues the run, charging onto the Interstate.
:Target evaded the spikes! Still mobile!:Right as Jubilee enters the freeway, two Nissan GT-R (R35) Super State Patrol Units meet her and attempt a rolling roadblock maneuver with the Lamborghini Gallardo Coupe Super State Cruiser behind her. With Jubilee pushing her speed past 120 mph and counting, a rolling roadblock at these speeds is highly dangerous.
:We're gonna try and stop her with a rolling block. Need a unit to take up position in the fro– Dispatch, target's trying to run me off the road! Need some help here!:Although Jubilee has never seen Ivy drive before in her life, back when they were actually best friends, Jubilee herself does not take too kindly to being surrounded, wedged, or boxed in with little to no maneuverability, so she rams one of the Nissan GT-R Super State Patrol cars with a whack to the rear left side, sending the Japanese import sliding off the road.
:Dispatch, clear the roads; get some Rhinos out here. This woman is dangerous.:"Uh-oh, these guys mean serious business." Although Jubilee isn't familiar with police tactics, she has heard of literal rhinos based on her study of nature, along with the power they pack - one single punch from a literal rhino is enough to kill, so taking that to heart, a hit from a figurative police rhino is enough to immobilize any vehicle, including any police car. This is when things start to get really dangerous.
By the time Rhino units even mobilize, Jubilee is already on the freeway, racing down the interstate at speeds now exceeding 150 mph. Whatever the cops can do at this speed, they need to get her stopped fast or they can pull back. But before they can even decide on what to do, another spike strip roadblock call goes out, alerting the pursuing officers.
:All units, this is 176-9 - 10-67 in the center as you approach the roadblock.:From left to right: BMW M3 (E92) Undercover Cruiser, Spike Strip, Ford Mustang GT State Patrol Cruiser. Only the right shoulder is left barely next to the rear of the State Patrol vehicle. This space is what Jubilee uses to squeeze through, passing both the roadblock and the spike strip!
:Target did not hit the spikes!! Let's get back on 'em!:With the pursuing units passing by and clearing out, the spike strip is collected by the cops and thrown into the back of the Ford Mustang GT State Muscle Cruiser, where both the M3 and the Mustang separate from the roadblock and join the pursuit to catch up.
:Dispatch, this is Unit 381 - on scene now. I'm gonna try and take this suspect out. Get E.M.S on standby.:A new police unit is giving Jubilee problems while just barely staying with her - a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Super State Cruiser. Though able to keep up for a short time, the Evo only manages to clip the rear left side of the SLR McLaren. However, Jubilee slams on her brakes and steers her ride into the Japanese import, delivering a powerful blow to the side of the police car.
:Standby! Suspect's trying to knock me out!:Unfortunately for the cops, the blow is hard enough to rattle the steering, and at speeds in excess of 115 mph, the Evo X police car slices through a construction part, out of control where it tears into the scaffolding of a road sign above which sends the entire structure to the ground, completely destroying the area and disabling any police vehicles in its wake.
*STATIC!*:Code 3 ambulance! I got injuries!:While Jubilee remains on the freeway, an emergency call gets picked up on her police scanner, and it is urgent.
:MULTIPLE UNITS DOWN!! MULTIPLE UNITS DOWN!! WE HAVE A REAL MESS OUT HERE!!!:Horrified by the carnage behind her, Jubilee's resolve to stop her former best friend grows even more. But while she can refuse to do any more work for Ivy, not only does her mother's life hang in the balance, but also her own life as well. Jubilee knows that when she evades police this time, there will be another target assigned to her to destroy.
~~~~~After successfully escaping capture in her second pursuit, Jubilee emerges from a garage. Now in the Gold Coast Mountains, Jubilee must now explore the region to find another safehouse she can use to lie low in.
After her most recent escape from police, Jubilee phones her mother again briefly for a quick conversation. After sending her mother a quick update on her status, the young woman sets off among the mountainous roads in the region.
Along the winding curves of the region, Jubilee catches sight of a blue Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (C2), which to her looks oddly familiar. But when she spots the driver of said classic car, the young woman herself peels away in panic.
"Oh my gosh! That was Ivy!! What is she doing out here in the Gold Coast Mountains??" Upon seeing her former best friend behind the wheel, Jubilee could hardly believe her eyes. Her chest drops from recognizing Ivy behind the wheel of the C2 Corvette Stingray. However, Ivy doesn't chase her - probably wasn't paying attention. But that doesn't mean she has goons of her own under her payroll to take care of Jubilee.
Assuming everything is under control, Jubilee resumes her exploration as if nothing happened, but she's still in a state of panic, slowly winding down. But suddenly, two black Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport (C2) cars emerge from a gated area and begin tailing Jubilee. Immediately, the young woman floors the accelerator to take off and the two classic muscle cars charge after her. Just hearing the deep rumbling of the angry V8 engines makes Jubilee panic.
What was going to be a high-speed situation lasts only a few tense moments throughout the winding mountain roads. While the C2 Corvettes are able to stay on Jubilee thanks to their powerful acceleration, their handling is inferior in the curves - Jubilee's Mercedes SLR McLaren is able to outperform them in the curves and the straights due to better handling and a higher top speed.
By the time Jubilee escapes this small attempted ambush, the young woman happens to discover yet another safehouse nearby, one that she is down the street from. When she arrives to investigate this new safehouse in her exploration, she spots yet another tape recorder. Not wanting to waste another second in getting her assignment done, Jubilee plays the tape, but the sinister tone of her former best friend and the assignment being given to her shows just how callous and heartless she really is.
"I wonder how the parents of a young child will feel once they learn their only child has been wiped out! Too much lovey-dovey crap mixed in with all that arguing! I saw the parents on a store surveillance camera arguing and I told them to stop. I even offered to babysit and they said no! The child needs to die, Jubilee, just to make them suffer for turning me down! And after you complete this job, you will be granted a new car and some protection money.""She's crazy! She's freaking crazy! How can she kill a child??!!" After hearing her third assignment, Jubilee began to pace around, completely distraught. Jubilee never fathomed how heartless Ivy has turned, and all over some personal vendetta against the parents! Even Jubilee couldn't bring herself to kill an innocent young child.
"I don't want a new car; I don't want the money; I didn't want any of this!! I can't kill a young child!" While Jubilee rambles on, she pauses to reflect on the conditions if she refuses to accept or fail this mission. But this is where Jubilee enacts her plan - she begins to change her cell phone number so that Ivy won't contact her; then she calls her mother using her new number. Once that is secured, Jubilee sets out to perform the inevitable, having been forced into it.
Setting off into the Gold Coast Mountains once more, Jubilee rolls out of her safehouse garage, only to be met by a black Lexus IS F nearby. Thinking it is more of Ivy's thugs, Jubilee floors it, quickly leaving the black car behind. But once she gets up to speed and a considerable distance away, the young girl begins to relax after pulling into a small garage to hide. Maybe they weren't thugs; could be somebody else. Could they be trying to warn Jubilee of something?
Regardless of whether or not the occupants of the black Lexus IS F are thugs or not, Jubilee remains focused on her mission. But when she pulls out of her garage to head to the waypoint, Jubilee's phone rings. To answer, she pulls into an alleyway to retrieve her phone and answer the call, which is her mother calling her regarding an update on her status and recent situation.
During the call, however, her police scanner goes off once again, leading to a dispatcher sending out a call for assistance regarding a familiar target in their database…
:All units be advised, a wanted party has just been seen exiting the Morinco garage on East Point Avenue, heading southwest. From what we can gather from the call, reports indicate the driver is wanted for multiple infractions and felonies, including Murder, Reckless Driving, and Assault on P.O. Minimal time delay; suspect was last seen heading southwest along East Point Drive. Can I get some units to check that out for me please?::Dispatch, if it's our same suspect, we should have no time locating her unless she's in a different vehicle. What is the vehicle description?::Target vehicle is a McLaren - a red Mercedes SLR McLaren.::Same vehicle! Could be someone different but it's the same car! We're en route, Dispatch!:Not only does Jubilee have trouble now, but she has also learned that Ivy is taking up residence in Sunset Hills, which is the district that Jubilee herself started out in to reach Palm Harbor for her first assignment. But she's not going to be able to reach Ivy at this time or reach her target and complete her assignment.
The sound of a police siren startles her where the camera focuses in on a passing Porsche 911 GT2 (997) Federal Sport Cruiser just passing by until one of the occupants notices the familiar red Mercedes SLR McLaren. After alerting their comrade and flipping on their lights and siren, the chase is on.
(🎵 Evil Association - Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 OST):Dispatch, Unit 552 - vehicle spotted. Suspect's trying to escape! Moving in for the takedown!:"Eek!!" When Ivy throws her car in reverse, she attempts to gun it, only to be met by a Dodge Viper SRT-1O Undercover Federal Cruiser, followed by a Nissan GT-R Super State Cruiser. With no other choice, Jubilee rips her car into gear and peels away, smashing head-on into the Porsche 911 GT2 (997) Federal Sport Cruiser and forcing it directly out of the way.
:Dispatch, 10-36! Suspect hit us head-on!:After forcing the 911 GT2 (997) Federal Sport Cruiser away, Jubilee ends up T-boning a passing Porsche 911 Turbo (997) Federal Sport Cruiser on the side, causing the Porsche police vehicle to careen out of control. Coincidentally, both vehicles lose control; but while Jubilee regains quick control of her SLR McLaren and speeds off, the Porsche 911 Turbo (997) Federal Sport Cruiser eats a light pole as a result. Surprisingly, the officers inside are uninjured but the front is damaged quite badly.
:PC's taken heavy damage! Suspect just T-boned us! Maintaining pursuit!:In the process of turning onto another intersection, Jubilee also tags a Nissan GT-R Super State Cruiser in the side, before backing off and veering away to avoid being rammed off the road.
:Standby - she's trying to take me out!::All pursuit units, be advised - chase status is now at Condition 5. Repeat, Condition 5. Pursuit is now in federal hands. All State Patrol units clear the scene and let the Feds take over.::Disregard that call, Dispatch. State uniforms can still nab her.::It's the command from HQ.:A roadblock appears up ahead, consisting of a Porsche 911 GT2 (997) Federal Sport Cruiser on the left and two Porsche Cayenne Turbo police SUVs on the right, completely blocking the road off ahead. But there is a major problem - scaffolding construction next to the roadblock. The only way Jubilee can avoid this is if she turns around. But she is going a bit too fast to even slow down. In a daredevil move, Jubilee careens her SLR McLaren onto the curb, briefly hopping onto the sidewalk and getting back down again. However, she plows through some scaffolding in the process, resulting in an entire structure in progress raining down on the police below.
*STATIC!*:Requesting Code 3 E.M.S - we got some guys banged up out here!::Suspect got around us! Still mobile!:Jubilee doesn't even bother to glance back at the destruction she caused. But an emergency call for help goes out right as she hits the interstate.
:Dispatch! Dispatch! Request Code 3 emergency services; multiple units down in a pile-up! Get em going - Code 3!!::Roger that, Unit 487 - E.M.S is en route.:When it looks like Jubilee will be escaping her next pursuit, a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X patrol car suddenly whizzes past her from behind, overtaking her. Then another police car, another Porsche 911 Turbo (997) Federal Sport Cruiser, bumps her from behind. However, throughout the police chatter, Jubilee regains control and swerves away to avoid getting tagged again. Upon seeing yet another police roadblock, she braces herself while the cops back off, but not before smashing aside the Lancer Evolution X police car in a Tbone attack.
From left to right: Porsche 911 Turbo (997) Federal Sport Cruiser, Porsche 911 GT2 (997) Federal Sport Cruiser. After destroying the Evo X, Jubilee squeezes through the blockade, tagging the rear of the 911 GT2 in the process.
:Target busted through! We're still in pursuit!:"Come on…! Come on…!!" After blasting onto the Interstate, Jubilee is finally out of range of the cops while meandering along the numerous curves through the freeway.
:Lost sight of 'em! VCB!::All units on the pursuit call - suspect was last seen going northwest along the Gold Coast Interchange. Any units available with information are to update when the situation advises. A perimeter is to be set up along the suspect's last known location. Advise when updated. Over.:"Good, I'm out of their sight. Now I can finally transfer back over to Port Crescent and get this over with! Then I will find Ivy myself and kill her!" Jubilee's resolve increases with this pursuit and her subsequent escape. But somehow, she has to lead the cops to Ivy's location. However, that is impossible since Jubilee is now wanted by the feds. How will she pull this off?
~~~~~After escaping their most recent pursuit and coming across a local garage in the Port Crescent neighborhood, Jubilee has escaped capture once again. Rolling out of the garage this time, her Mercedes SLR McLaren now has a makeover. While still appearing stock, the car now has a new paint job - red paint in exchange for black paint while the windows stayed the same color. Broad white racing stripes vertically cascade down the middle of the car. As for the interior, it is red. However, her license plate remains the same. No matter - the cops won't recognize her ride instantly due to the transformation but the problem will come if they scan the license plate.
Taking a deep breath to ready herself, Jubilee reminds herself, "Just need to go in there, snipe the target, and get out. If there was some way I could lead the cops to Ivy's location, I would do it. But even if that didn't work, I know where she lives now. Once I do this final assignment, it's all over."
When Jubilee fires up the 5.4L supercharged M155 SLR V8, the woman driver rolls her car out of the garage, proceeding in a slow crawl towards the road before turning onto a local road. And once she's on the road, she blends in with local traffic to throw off suspicion. After being chased twice by the police in one day, Jubilee decided a change of scenery would do the trick. So she changed her car's appearance while leaving the performance aspect completely stock.
To Jubilee's surprise, the plan actually works. From the drive starting at the garage to a more local area, Jubilee arrived without a trace of heat. And the situation quickly dawns on her when she notices she is in a sort of residential area. However, after checking her database and map, Jubilee soon finds her target location at the Belmont Estates. The woman herself is hardly frustrated, more like mildly disappointed. And so begins another drive to the large mansions.
~~~~~The journey from the residential district to the Belmont Estates didn't take that long to do - the travel was short. Something about Ivy's message indicated that these guys are rich, but Jubilee has yet to find out.
After climbing out of her striped black Mercedes SLR McLaren, Jubilee marches to inspect the building, cradling the sniper rifle in her arms. But after a swift, yet careful inspection, no one is inside - the Belmont Estates are presently empty. This makes Jubilee's forced job more complicated as there are multiple spots where children can be.
Children can be anywhere - a local park, at home, an arcade, they can be anywhere. And since Jubilee doesn't know her target's appearance, she could be going at this for a long time while having to contend with the cops. There has to be some way she can track and locate her target without attracting any attention.
Unless her target lives at the Belmont Estates, Jubilee has a sickening feeling in her stomach that Ivy's assigning her to assassinate a child from a high-class background. Her fears are slowly being realized. She marches back to her car and puts away the sniper rifle before checking her database. When she finally brings up her map, her blood runs cold - underneath the profile of her third target, the Place of Residence is listed as 'Belmont Estates'.
"Oh crap…" Jubilee nearly drops her device upon discovering this, leading her to conclude, "I feel really bad for doing this. No one deserves this. Those parents are gonna be bawling their eyes out soon. If only I could warn them, but I can't!"
Left with no other choice, Jubilee gets back into her car and behind to pull away. However, she doesn't get far when her police scanner erupts again with radio chatter being picked up.
:Attention all units in the vicinity, a suspicious vehicle has been reported in the area. From what we can make out, the suspect has a history of evading police. Suspect was last seen leaving the Belmont Estates. All units on non-priority calls to clear up and head that way, please.::This is Unit 31 - what are we looking for? Any more details, Dispatch?::Target vehicle is a black McLaren.::Unit 80 here - just got done clearing another call. Will be up there shortly.:Jubilee blinks at her scanner while driving. She can really use a break right about now. At a time like this, all Jubilee can hope for is smooth sailing towards her target while avoiding detection. Her wanted level is still high at Heat 4.
To get to her destination whilst avoiding detection, Jubilee begins to use the alleyways to her advantage during which she blends in with regular traffic in the city. While her reporters view her as a suspicious party, she is just another daily driver to normal commuters in average traffic. However, the young woman earns herself a quick break from being outside by staking out and rolling into another garage where once again, she changes the paint on her car to a silver color this time while having black racing stripes traversing vertically down her car. And instead of the stock silver rims on her car, these are replaced by black wheels. This color change drastically aids in reducing her heat level dramatically.
After crashing in the waiting area just sitting in one of the chairs, Jubilee is approached by one of the mechanics - a bald man in his early 30s wearing all silver. But before he can speak, Jubilee explains the full situation of what's going on. All the mechanic can do is shake his head in sorrow, yet he attempts to assure her, "I'll put in a good word for ya if the police come here. You're that same woman from those news reports about that string of murders going around the entire Tri-City Bay area! But I'll try to put in a good word to the cops for ya! Be careful out there and make that blacklisting thug pay!"
When Jubilee waves goodbye and exits the garage to reach her silver Mercedes SLR McLaren, the woman driver climbs back into the car and rolls off, sticking to the alleyways in continuation of her journey. Eventually, she comes across a rural road where there is a park nearby. Maybe that's where her target is, if she can find him.
Jubilee almost runs into an unmarked Ford Crown Victoria police car in the process, but fortunately, they didn't pick up on her presence. And this is when she crosses an intersection at a green light. Fortunately for her, she remains undetected.
The rest of the drive is short, leaving Jubilee to park her car in a small lot while surveying the scene. Eventually, she finds her target among others, just playing around. This is the latest mission out of the couple of assignments given that will tear this young woman apart internally.
Not wanting to witness the shot with her own eyes, Jubilee grabs her sniper rifle and uses the scope to zoom in. Once she's at the right setting, she closes her eyes and takes the shot, dropping the target while darting back inside of her ride. She barely has time to put on her seatbelt and she's already firing up the 5.4L Supercharged V8 and peeling out in reverse.
With the scene reduced to chaos with people screaming and fleeing the scene, a few of them stay behind to call the police to get a look at the fleeing vehicle. In Jubilee's case, it is another job well done but at what cost? Having reached her limit, Jubilee concludes, "That's it! I'm shutting her down right now! If there's explosives next to her house, I will make sure they blow her up! I'm done with this!"
Seconds later, Jubilee's police scanner goes off once again, with a new report.
:All units monitoring, a suspicious party was seen fleeing the scene of a murder at Morris Community Park. Suspect was last seen headed east along Sunset Highway. Can units start clearing up and heading that way for me, please?::Dispatch, is there a vehicle description with that report?::Suspect is driving a silver McLaren.::Unit 94 here - just cleared a traffic stop. I'm en route to the location now.:"Not now! I'm on a mission here!" Jubilee grumbled in irritation. To avoid a police pursuit for the 4th time, Jubilee sticks to the alleyways once again to avoid being spotted. It works, to an extent. But when she hits the freeway again, the young woman driver is suddenly lit up from behind by an incoming Ford Crown Victoria from behind. From that point, the chase is on - depending on the condition, Jubilee will have to evade the cops if she wants to reach Ivy's square in the Gold Coast Mountains.
(🎵 Pursuit Theme 5 - NFS Unbound OST)Upon hearing the siren and noticing the approaching police car behind her, Jubilee races off onto the interchange leading onto the freeway.
:Dispatch, this is Unit 80 - got that Code 6 party in sight. She took off on me! We're Code 3!::All units in the pursuit, control is to be handed over to the Feds. All pursuing units fall back and led federal officers take control.:"If I can just make it over to the Gold Coast Mountains, I should be able to destroy Ivy if I manage to escape the cops." Jubilee wondered to herself.
:Okay, get out of my way! I'm gonna spin her!:"Eeekk!" Jubilee suddenly pounds on her brake pedal to avoid going into a spin - a Nissan GT-R Super State Cruiser attempts a PIT maneuver by pushing her rear left side, only for the woman to slam on her brakes and countersteer in regaining control. She quickly speeds up and punches the R35 in the rear for a hard collision.
*BAM!*:Dispatch, I've been hit!:An oncoming Porsche 911 GT2 Federal Sport Cruiser attempts to cut Jubilee off in the process of joining the pursuit, only to blast off upon being smashed hard in the side!
*STATIC!*:Dispatch, we got a unit out - we lost a vehicle! Lost a vehicle!:The pursuit takes Jubilee into the Gold Coast Mountains where she clips some construction scaffolding for an overhead destination sign, sending a boatload of catastrophe raining down on the cops.
*STATIC!*:Got smoke filling the cabin! Federal unit down!:This is followed by an emergency call for assistance:
:I need— I need Code 3 E.M.S to my location! We have multiple units in a pile-up!:Finally, after some time, Jubilee disappears from the cops once again while getting off the interstate. After finding a hiding spot, she once again successfully escapes capture. Now it is time for Ivy to pay dearly for what she's done.
~~~~~"Well, this is it - Ivy's apartment. If I do this right, I should be able to blow the place up and burn it to the ground, hopefully with her inside… oh, there we go!" Scoping out Ivy's apartment from across the street in her car, Jubilee searches around for a bit when she sees a familiar Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Coupe (C2) in the driveway. Carefully, she takes aim at the car itself and fires round after round into the car, breaking the windows, the wheels, even the exhaust system. Then she turns her attention to the garage building and fires once more…
*BOOM!*"Whoa, what did I hit?? A tanker or something??" Jubilee actually shot and destroyed a generator, resulting in the garage being blown up along with the C2 being thrown across the street from the explosion! But not only is the car on fire but so is part of the apartment, on which the fire is rapidly spreading. Satisfied, Jubilee collects herself, ditches the Sniper Rifle, and climbs back into her SLR McLaren, proceeding to call her mother with an update before speeding away. She's going to make sure she is absolutely free after this ordeal is over.
