He was born and raised during the 1200s in Japan, washed up on the shore of Japan, where his step father, and future Samurai master found him. Ever since then, he was raised and taught in the ways of the Samurai. One night on his 20th birthday, a lunar eclipse was what turned Ren into the hot piece of dragon ass we all know him as today[yes he was born human]. People of that time were unused to dragons, so Ren had armor crafted to hide his face, and to moreso fit his towering stature. The sword was a special gift from Priest Gorō Masamune. While the sword is not the sharpest, and because of Ren's immense strength as a dragon, he is almost able to cleave through virtually anything with little effort. The armor was made by a close friend of Ren's master. A meteorite was used in the construction of Ren's armor, the space rock giving the armor it's beautiful obsidian colour. The silk cape and garments he was given were seemingly "enchanted", Making them virtually indestructible, and absolutely cozy.

Ren was a bit more serious and stern during these days, always wanting to be alone. The years passing by while everyone he knew and loved aged and died while he didn't was utterly painful to his soft heart, he received the title 孤独な影 [Kodokuna kage - The Lonely shadow], for his dark and lonesome demeanor, wandering the regions of Japan over the years, aiding those in need, and leaving in utter silence, not wanting to interact or get attached.
