In this picture you can clearly see the beautiful pinkish sky contrasting with the deep orange sea. The pier I'm resting on is partially covered in seaweed. It is still able to hold a couple people, even if nobody comes to this place anymore -- or at least, not to view the palm tree and green-covered hills and the village atop them. The final stretch of the boardwalk used to be way wider, but part of it has collapsed into the water, leaving only a few moss-covered pillars for me to gaze at. The part that IS still visible to the naked eye is slanted to the right and would cause anyone who would walk on it to slide headfirst into the cold water below. The wood the pier consists of is almost always very slippery, because the high humidity, coupled with the weeds growing around the platform, keeps it from drying up in its entirety. But that doesn't deter a fluffy diaperbutt like me from enjoying the beautiful view of the setting sun and the calm saltwater.
