This was rattling around inside my head for a little while now. It's basically power armor allowing for space-travel/combat for my particular style of dragons (IE like Erinsis). I sort of wanted to do a short comic sequence involving it, but decided it was beyond my level of patience and attention span to do (mostly because I'm not practiced with this kind of stuff and I'd probably get bored of it quickly as well) As such I just produced this quick scribble and colouring job in the span of a couple of hours.
I imagine the underside could hold your cliche over-sized energy cannon.
I had no colour scheme in mind, I simply coloured propulsion parts in yellow, and cannons in orange. Aside from the armor plating the suit would be equipped with a shield generator. The power core being located on the back as well.
Other things that came to mind with this design (and the universe this would persist in) is that while there is an on board computer that would be able to execute tactics more effectively that there's usually tech in place to knock out AI systems, such is the need for the biological pilot. The one in the suit also has a self contained environmental suit in case the armor itself suffers breaches and exposure to space.

Oooh, very cool. Is this a short-range/short-term sort of suit, to go out and fight other small/quick ships (and etc.) in defense of a larger vessel that the dragon lives/docks on, or do you see it as something that could make it far enough to do interplanetary travel (plus the power needed for escape velocity/re-entry) on its own?
I think I intended that it can make interplanetary travel if need be, though in such cases I imagine there'd be jump points to travel longer distances with some sort of assist. I never put much thought into the whole space faring side of things, especially on the laws of physics and if they were to be bent or not. Such a thing as an inertial damper could mean that it wouldn't take much power at all to reach escape velocity.
I like this kind of stuff.
What kind of propulsion does it use? How about sensors? Power supply? Since it has a pilot, what's the recommended wear-time?
That looks like a plasma weapon, or is it a rail-gun with a really kick-ass energy effect?
I should scan in my (crappy) drawings of stuff like this. In mine, I have a particular love for plasma cannons and knife-missiles for my weapons load-out. You can expect some combination of those two on just about any offensive unit I design.

I've been drawing exosuits and power armor for years. It's not easy. A good design protects the joints without hindering their flexibility, has space for the power sources and generators, has practically designed exterior without many niches and nook to get caught on, motors on the joints so that the ludicrous weight doesn't break the occupant, has ports for any potential attachments, a way to get in and out of the armor, practical HUD, good vision range without creating a large weak point on the helmet, etc etc etc....
I must say that your design, while not exactly flawless, seems to be very practical. I applaud thee.

Not exactly, at least not with my finalized powered armor designs... I could go into detail about a sci-fi universe I've been working on for 6 years and all the design concepts, robot designs, ship schematics, weapon physics, planetary and lunar research, extra-terrestrial biology and such that I've put into it, nut this is Endium's art, not mine. So... PM me if you're interested.
