Just to the left of the prior picture was this awesome cast control stand. The linkages no longer connected.
The removed 'diamond' in the background is where the Milwaukee Road (Northern Division) once crossed. Amazingly the signals for the Milwaukee line still were lit, displaying red. waiting for trains that will never come. The Milwaukee trackage was actually fully complete to this spot before it was severed at Highway 41 in the early 2000's.
One had to be on Ohio St/#44 to see it, and taking a pictures of it was putting yourself in harms way.
Today I wish I had been a bit gutsier 'cause it would have been a great image.

Looking at Google Street View one would have no idea that the SOO/WC and the MILW ever went by here. It's all gone.
