Drawing Like Ru: A Guide of Sorts - part 2
A quick sketch I doodled up to pass some time, and because quite a few people seemed to like the quick face guide I did.
Here's what it's like to draw a body, when you're Ru. Yes, this really is all there is to it, when it's with me. I haven't really learned a good way of setting up and following through with details... I just sort of eyeball everything and see how it goes. x3
So, not a very extensive guide, but what can ya do. Anyway, lemme know your thoughts, folks.

well for me, i need a general idea of how things generally work out. i don't want to be able to draw exactly like other artists. what i need to know is some basics on how furry art in general is done so i can create my own skills to branch out to. so far, yours is the only one that has fulfilled what i think i need to know ^^
It does make such angles tricky, but to be honest I've never had much interest in such angles anyway. I realize that makes me a bit lame as far as an artist goes, but I just prefer the simple pinup style poses and angles to the more complicated ones, so I've never had much interest in learning.
Hehe, for all you say about being useless and having no technique, you certainly have enough people telling you otherwise and paying you for your skills! :3 The weird thing is, you use much the same, or at least pretty similar, body construction methods to me yet your results are so much better! Maybe it's because I draw the damn things so big and run out of space for the lower legs and footpaws... which as much as I love, I can't draw anyway. Dx Ugh. Right, I'm paying for your flight to come over and give me some one-to-one tuition! *sighs*
i don't see anything wrong w/ how you set things up a lot of people do it that way. what you're good at is putting in those subtle undefined details that usually define the picture better than putting in a whole outline for the whole detail which i think is my problem i still like to have a line defining everry little thing.
It is interesting to see how you draw a whole body using construction lines and shapes. I just draw the body straight and don't bother with this stuff, but maybe I should have a go at using this kind of method. It'll be interesting to see how it affects my drawing style.
no ufens. but a teacher tryed showing and drilling that proses into me... and failed. :( i never realy get the ball thing. they alwas come out like a pepal beside a base ball beside a teinis ball. or looking like 'it'(adums family) and tiny(crash saga) had a kid and there kid had one with big foot.
I love these guides. It skips all the bullshit that you know full well that you're not going to do and skips to the"Fuck it. Let's see what happens if I do this." part of the process where all such works inevitably end. God, if only there were a section like that in instruction manuals.*
