Vani, a Illithid, or better known as, a Mind Flayer. unlike most of his kind, Vani isn't set on domination and enthralling, quite the opposite actually. Vani lives and work within a Noble House of Elves, working a scholar for them, committing his time into research into any arcane anomalies, artifacts, locations, or other mysteries. Spending most of his time in their grand library where he can conduct his investigations and experiments. For his own safety, he's kept a secret and primarily works alone, not that he minds, he enjoys his work in the end.

Personality wise, if someone were to meet this Mind Flayer, they would find him to be a talented and well mannered gentleman. Having skills in alchemy, enchanting, history, and cooking. Even his physical appearance lacks the intimidating appearance most mind flayers have. He has a more elegant and beautiful body which had come from his host long ago. Before his Ceremorphosis, the process in which someone is turned into a Mind Flayer, he was a Triton, a deed sea elf, and had gained a remarkable skin tone and squid-like tentacles. Then again, he is actually a Ulitharid, another breed of Mind Flayers that have the capbility to one day become an Elder Brain.

Luckily for Vani, when his Ceremorphosis was complete he was not near any Elder Brains, and thus, he has become an independent mind and is not part of a colony Hive Mind.

Should you meet him personally, expect a Mind Flayer who may offer you a cup of tea or glass of wine, someone who's more than willing to answer your questions as he reads into his latest investigation. His kindness is not to be taken for weakness, after all, he is a mind flayer and a powerful spell caster. Violence is a last resort but he has not intention of dying over one's well founded prejudice.
