Longer hair looks more feminine, but I'm guessing that Shayla would enjoy a bit of gender confusion since she is so much of a tomboy.

I prefer he short hair version as well.

Like pyrostinger says, long hair tends to be seen as more feminine, while Shayla's always seemed a more androgynous or tomboyish character to me (and I like that about her).

This does boil down to personal taste, in the long run. With that in mind, I prefer the long hair as an alternate...

Can I put a vote in for 'I like the way it is now?' It's kinda got that mixture and in-between that these two seem to be on the polar ends of. The short one looks like it's extra rough, while the long looks like it's extra dingey or maybe just motherly/mature. I think the left would look neat with a bun on the top or something there and of the like. Sort of oriental lookin'..

Normally, my personal preference is for long(er) hair on females, but I think the short 'do on Shayla makes her look extra pixie-like. ;3

Mmm...after seeing the results of her short hair in the gag "OMG! YOU'RE A GIRL!!", I tend to like the longer hair on Shayla...although I wonder what she'd look like with a "Cheska" Style ponytail....or a topnot?

I don't like the short hair, although the way her hair has always been is better than the long-hair, which reminds me of the stereotype of a native american

Generally I prefer long hair on a girl. Not many women can pull it off. That being said, Shayla is one that most certainly CAN pull it off. She's had the short hair since the first time I saw her back in the old comic run, and I've always loved that look to her. :D

By the way, I know a girl with her hair JUST like that first style. It's damn eerie. O_o
