Reference for my OC Petal :)
I remember how she looked when I was kid and it's so much different now minus a few bits like her tail and big paws. I'm happy with the outcome tho, I love her to bits ;;;

Bit character of Lore:
She's from a place called the Undergrowth. Her species are rodent-like, bipedal creatures called Bloom Beasts that all exhibit a flower growing from a part of their bodies. Their flowers are used to absorb energy (similar to photosynthesis). The Undergrowth is a lush, underground region filled with plants and gems that emit UV-like light which in turn help the land keep it's foliage growing. The Topside of the world had been decimated by war and is covered by a thick layer of smog that covers the sky, shielding the world from the sun. What magic that was left in the world fled underground and created a utopia. However not everyone could leave the Topside and so some residents still reside in the ruins...

Petal is the daughter of the Undergowth's royalty who manage the people and protect the Everlasting Light that keeps the region safe from darkness. She is outgoing and fun loving but often forgets her responsibilities to explore. She dreams of adventuring in more of the Undergrowth and even the Topside despite its dangers but is kept at home due to her duties. On the day of her coronation Petal was supposed to arrive home early to prepare and be crowned the new ruler however she felt it would be better to spend her last day of 'freedom' celebrating with her forest friends. While she was away, the big baddie of the story crashes the coronation. She is the leader of the Topside refugees and has spent years using what dark magic she had to create an army in order to steal the power of the Everlasting Light. Through anger and reckless action the Everlasting Light is destroyed and our big baddie kidnaps the king and queen (Petal's parents) in order to pry the secret of restoring it to her. In the meantime she orders her army to find the royal daughter for the chance that she knows the secret too. Petal doesn't realize what's happening until she she notices dark smoke from the horizon. A servant and dear friend of petal rushes to her from the direction, looking for her and explains that she needs to leave otherwise she'd be taken too. In desperation she is told of a secret path to the Topside where she must escape to as the undergrowth will soon will become corrupt from the light's destruction.
