Matchstick and Canister (nicknames) rule in the city where Hazuma lives. They collect tribute from local domestic dogs so that street dogs do not die of hunger. They keep their own gang and have their own methods of “persuasion”. Match in their duet is more like a brain, and Canister is like a force, they try to act as humanely as possible, but sometimes they have to resort to threats and robbery.
Many do not agree with their methods, but are afraid to object openly. When Akita appears in the city and meets Hazuma, she quickly comes out in opposition, having such a formidable defender as Akita behind her.
