I was tinkering with some random items i collected over time at various jewelry shops and personal junk drawers. and came up with this lil concept,
Its an actuall working locket, pre-made and bought as is. i simply posished some texture into it, with some old steel chain i found and very badly tarnished Nut fixtures, polished partialy to give an aged look.
the other side consists of abalone shell carvings, Tigers eye round beads and tumbled stone pebbles. accented by some beautiful Ocean jasper pebbles.

I know right, for what some places sell it for you'd think it would last longer, i almost accidentally polished off some of the writing myself, but when i found it at a jewelry shop i suddenly had a need to use it for something but i had no idea what. i figure it would be a fairly popular item sold at craft stores, but even so i got it anyway to see if i could make anything appealing out of it

Same here, but i really don't know much about steam punk itself, i do really enjoy the intricate creations some people can make from them. if anything i was always a bigger fan of wild west cyberpunk/steampunk. (Fierfly and Bravestar, and of course Wild Wild West and Back to the Future III)
I cant say I've avoided it, but i did avoid wanting to call this a steampunk item in itself, due to the fact it may or may not be steampunk related, A badger girl once told me that they say steam punk is anything you make of it, but there are guidelines.
so its understandable why some would prolly want to avoid it no real definite meaning, but still one of those recognizable things.
Here I'm sure this place is no big secret, but if it helps i found this sight a while back that seemed to have some very interesting steampunk like clothing
