I'm excited to be able to share this absolutely gorgeous character line-up by

At last, we get to see the gang together. Not the whole of Sakara's tribe, mind you, but rather his closest friends and family. It's something I've wanted to commission for a few years, but I was held back by not knowing how I wanted most of them to look. With time that changed, and I started to form ideas for how they might dress themselves. Although in the case of Sana, that is entirely Kate's work, a great design that came about from a different piece I haven't yet uploaded.
It's such a great piece, from the detailed clothing and jewellery, to Tikeri's jealous gaze as he watched Conor flirt with a man he claims to have seen first, though never made a move on.
All but the otter, Sana, appeared in The Hunt and its associated story, so you may have gotten to know them a little already:
The orphaned siblings, Kuveli and Sakara.
Conor, the mysterious wanderer.
The leader of the Lentavohi and its council, Tikeri.
The wordless shaman, Sana, who cut his own tongue out long ago.
Life-long mates and soon-to-be parents Kuvӓhӓ and Valkantaa.
Apart from Conor - who is a very recent addition to their circle - the gang has been close since childhood. Sakara raised Kuveli since the younger fox was only a season old, and Tikeri, Sana and Valkantaa grew up together playing in the forest and terrorising the adults in camp. It was only when Sakara limped into the Lentavohi camp as a boy, some ten winters ago, that he met the other three. He and Tikeri quickly developed a bond, the wolf's father adopting the two orphans into his own Lavvu until they could have their own. Through Tikeri, Sakara met and befriended the otter and the marten soon after.
But Sakara and Kuveli aren't the only adoptees. Kuvӓhӓ came from the frozen sea far to the north, but was banished in his early teens. After many moons trekking south, he came across the Lentavohi, who took him in. Yet he never really grew close, not for the first few years. He would rather stick to himself, spending all his time alone in the woods, speaking to most of his new tribemates with only bitterness. It wasn't until Sakara was adopted that his attitude began to thaw. Given their situations, the lynx sensed a connection between them, and in time Sakara eventually convinced him to come spend time with the others. The rest is history.
I would love to write full bios for each character, or go into greater detail with their relationships, but I fear if I did so, this piece wouldn't see the light of day for months. And you all have been waiting too long for a new upload.
Please, go shower any praise on Kate for creating such a wonderful piece. She absolutely deserves it.

Kuvähä is a true tufty feline. Treats you like a stranger when people he doesn't know are around, then gets all soft when they're gone.
In hindsight, yeah. Sana is only short-hand for his full name, Sanakunta. Though sadly I lost what I originally intended the name to mean. The only result I get is "vocabulary."

Well at least he is able to be himself more when no one is around! ^^ He seems like a very interesting character!
Vocabulary would be "sanasto"
But sana means "a word" and "kunta" means municipality or commune (in the modern day at least), but kunta can also refer to kingdom in taxonomy. But together they make a totally new concept that is not used in Finnish, it is pretty cool! It sounds like he is a source of many words, despite lacking his tongue! ^^

I think I'm seeing my original intent with the name. Something to the effect of "speaker of the community" or such. I should... Perhaps start using some real consultation on that. Or make some time to learn.
Regardless, yes, even without words he can weave stories by night, and speak the words of the spirits by day.
