They were all taken out of the building, safe from the fires and into different ambulances. As much as Matthew is questioned about what happened, he didn't answer much, the last thing he remembered was being injected with something at a condemned building. Now he was living his worst nightmare. He was in an ambulance, looking down at Kari while she had an oxygen mask over her face. From what Matthew could tell, no one say his friends in their monster forms. Monsters were in the branches of law to make sure they could hide each other in scenarios like this. But that may not save those he cared about from what he did without even knowing...
He just stared down at Kari while she laid in the stretcher, "She's gonna make it," Brian said, "She's not dead yet, and we could get her to the hospital fast. She could get treatment."
"COULD, get treatment..." Matthew murmerred, and then he sighed, "How many people were left alive by it before?"
Brian was silent for a while.
"But thes es differen, lad." Lass said weakly, "It din't outright kill them outrigh', and they even went to attack us."
Matthew bowed his head and held it down by his hands
"You have to keep hope, Matthew," Brian said, "It may be weird to say from me, but it's all we can do now. Just believe that they will make it."
"Thae gonna make it, lad." Agreed Lass.
Matthew still kept his head down, then he took a breath. "Okay... Okay..."
Footsteps were heard as a paramedic entered the back of the ambulance with Matthew and Kari, "Okay, Let's get going, She's stable for now." He looked like a cat anthro, but he didn't react much to Kari's appearance, "Sorry, they had to call me in since I was Special for this." He saw Matthew, and patted his shoulder, "Don't worry about the look of her, we'll do what we can for her."
Matthew slowly looked up at the paramedic, and started to smile. Then he saw it, in the other corner of the ambulance. it was himself, deathly looking, growling, and wielding a knife; The First.

"No..." Matthew said under his breath, watching as this nightmarish figure.
It just stood in the corner, toying with a knife in its hands. Where it was looking wasn't clear through its glazed eyes.
Matthew's heart was racing, and he looked around.
"Sir are you okay?"
Matthew wasn't listening to the paramedic, he was trying to find something, anything he could use to stand against this thing.
"Relax, Matthew." Brian said, "It's not really there. Remember, it's part of you. a hallucination to a killer personality."
"An wha will we do if ae takes over again?" Lass asked, sounding just as scared as Matthew, "We have to stop it, some way, anyway."
He looked outside, and saw a police officer near the paramedic's door. The officer was facing the crowd and trying to keep them back from the vehicles trying to escape. Matthew's eyes were trained on the cops holster... he looked back at The First, who was just standing there, then he turned back to the cop's gun and reached to take it.
