Very cute, I love foals. It's not good to leave a halter on when they're turned out though. Even if it will break away when caught on something stronger than the buckle, it can still get hung in other things including a back foot when they go to scratch. You're pretty much taking a gamble that you won't have a bad wreck. It's not a bad idea to start halter-breaking them at this age anyway. Taking it off and putting it on, teaching them to lead and operate on a halter rope.
