Frost wandered aimlessly between snowy hill and icy spire.
It needed neither sustenance or warmth, but it's heart was numb.
A long, slow chill had crept into it's icy bones over the years, a very different kind of chill to the one that normally accompanied it's silent paw steps upon the barren ground.
Frost was lonely. Desperately, achingly, lonely.
But there was no one.
No one at all.
Frost heaved a laboured sigh and settled down among the snowdrifts.
In the morning it would once again begin the long aimless journey that had marked every waking moment of it's life. But for now, Frost had decided to curl in around itself and stare mindlessly at the falling snow.
