A little night-time commission for _.crowster._ on instagram! Love a good purple-y themed commission and playing around with city lights and things like that. This was an enjoyable one to do. Crowley (and his glasses) were drawn with sai, and background was does with clip studio. I always enjoy hyena characters honestly. They're always a blast :D And also the glasses in the alt version are killer so I'm here for that.

Once again, it shows what you're really good at: Drawing/painting fur!
Yeah, the fur/hair looks really great! It also follows the anatomical structure of the face... the cheek, the chin, the eye socket the snout... every part is covered by fur and yet it's recognizable.
The nose is pretty well done with some different "shades of black" and since I'm more of a "reptile/lizard/dragon" artist... it's always cool to see a canine style nose. It's also a helpful reference, hehehehe.
BUT the best part of the artwork are the eyes!
I love the stare, the iris and the cool reflections in the eye!
It even looks as... as if... the buildings of the background are visible in the eye too. Yeah, that's obvious! We have a reflection of the buildings here.
BUT I even claim that it looks like a smartphone... as if the character is taking a selfie.

Thank you! The nose is a bit simplistic imo, but the character was pretty cartoony so usually for those I don't aim for total realism. Depends on the style that someone's after. Could go more could go less- usually the ones with less have like.. no nostrils. Look like a little rendered cartoon (not this one I mean some previous commissions I've done lol)
Eyes are always pretty dope and I want to be able to get back to my studies of actual architecture when I get the time to (just work and uni keeping me busy)

Well, talking about "cartoony"... most characters don't have many details but it's obvious that they should have fur. In a cartoony version, the characters are really simplified... but YOU added so much here to make it more realistic of course. ^^
