It’s not scary to stumble upon walking dogs in Taiga (as the locals call their city). Almost all people are omnivores, except gourmet herbivores, but even they are allowed to eat meat if they want. The Kapkan sisters would prefer to eat only meat.
“If the meat doesn’t speak, doesn’t twitch, and doesn’t understand the meaning of its existence, I’ll eat it,” Zira bares her teeth. For her and Yara, the norm is to divide all creatures into varieties.
Thoroughbreds are a special rarity. Zira doesn't touch thoroughbreds; for her they are grumbling decorative toys, dressed up and combed like angry little spitz dogs. This, for example, is August — a little lynx running errands. Zira knows almost everything about him — thanks to the friendship of their families, where one of the main values is purity of the breed.
Since childhood, Dobermans have had their ears cropped as an indicator of their status, so the school does not even dare to make a murmur at them. Pedigree is a whole history of generations, a gold mine under the protection of the law to preserve the purity of species. Simply being born from two parents of the same species is not as prestigious as being born from parents of the same breed, and Kapkan take full advantage of their position, showing absolute animal racism.
Yara echoes her older sister, however, she does not like Zira’s increased interest in August.
It’s not scary to see purebred dogs walking in Taiga, but if you are, say, a vagabond cat Cobalt, a loud punk Pink or the eternal trippy Taigra, then run and hide. Taigra has already told Cobalt that Cauldrons save her from maniacs.
