My brother told me a tale of a box of chewy granola bars mom bought at a big lots once. He got one out of the cabinet late one night and opened it on his way to his room and took a bite, it had a weird texture and stuff was moving around. He spit it out and looked and the package was full of all these small obong black bugs.

You can find good deals at big lots, just doublecheck the expiration dates...

They were actually pretty small. Back at my folks place the area is not prone to roach issues. The way he described them to me, they are tiny and smooth shelled. Sounds to me like what I and many others call "Spice bugs" - the kind that seem to manage to get into a tightly capped jar of spices like chili powder. I have to keep an eye out for them here however. Since I like to cook and need lots of spices, it can be an issue. I keep most of those in the freezer and that works.

Regardless, he wont touch granola bars ever again he said - LOL - funny, but not...
