That which we obsess over is captured so brilliantly in this piece... Tell me if I'm wrong, but I do believe I've received the full intention of the art.
For one, I see the eye as our natural seeking of what we covet and thirst for. In a literal sense, our eyes dart back and forth in search of the things we are obsessed with. Obviously, the main obsession of practically everyone on the planet is some form of love. The hearts and crosses surrounding the "optic wonder" here represent just that.
Humans never stop thinking, dreaming, searching, and longing for love... It's as if that desire to be accepted and adored has overcome any other priority. Of course, sentimentality and love are positive things when left alone, but we, as people, have almost mutated into obsessors (the point you're making here). We are positively entangled in our web of "I need, I need" and, "who will love me?" so much that it distracts us from equally important things.
In short, the piece states the simple truth that we never stop feverishly searching for love. Interestingly, you also captured the spiritual side of obsession, as well. This is a touchy subject, but there are those who allow their beliefs to completely take over their lives and rule their ability to be open-minded. Again, there are positive edges to any form of love, but when obsessed over, they can morph into more negative concepts.
A wise man named Hannibal Lecter once said, "We covet what we see," and this is the absolute truth.
You know I love your work, but I just like saying it anyway. ^_^

An obsessive appearance is necessary for any artwork, I'm glad you can feel that,
but I didn't try to express the motif in this way XD
Actually I tried to draw the "obsession" in a personification way, to make it like a creature but not a concept.
So I didn't really think very deeply for this work XD
But you're right, that may be the reason and motive to make me draw this work,
people's greed for all they want makes the obsession come out and fill them with madness.
As well, I love your comments ^_^
