Sorry for my hiatus, had some life stuff to figure out and ran out of motivation for a while. I'm hoping this is a start in becoming more consistent again. Anyway, here's a commission I did for the lovely Zeth! Thank you so much for all the patience, and I'm sorry for the wait. Now, without further ado, I hope you enjoy Big Popplio in a Little City!

Steven parked in the beach parking lot like he did every weekend over the summer. He stepped out of his car and took a nice deep breath of the salty air, putting a massive grin on his face. Nothing quite like a good old beach day to take the mind off of the stresses of both his job and his life.
Steven walked over to his trunk and opened it up, removing his cooler and towel before walking down the lot to the beach. There he set up his towel and umbrella, as well as a cooler with a few sandwiches and soda cans. He pulled out a Fanga and popped it open. He took a swig of the cold and crisp orange drink, sighed, and just relaxed to the sound of the waves and the smell of salt in the air.
That was how it stayed for a few hours. Relaxing, occasionally eating a snack and going for a swim, but overall just laying on the sand and enjoying some time to himself.
That was before he felt a cold wetness below his legs, dampening his towel. He sat up to see what it was, only to find that the ocean was starting to make massive waves that pushed themselves far more inland than normally possible. As he sat there in confusion, a few more waves came to the towel and drenched it. He stood up, ready to run back to normal land when he saw it. A solid blue shape emerging from the liquid blue of the sea. Round with two protruding ears and a white snout ending in a bright pink nose reminiscent of a clown’s. A mischievous grin soon gave way to the rest of the body of a massive Popplio.
Oliver rose from the ocean with a grin plastered on his face. He was ready to have a day of fun, and the faces of the people on the beach were already getting him excited. He flopped onto the land, squishing some people under his dripping wet body and flippers. Their struggles aroused only a giggle from the mass of weight on top of them.
He continued forward into the city, pushing down buildings with each slide and hop. Screams and alarms erupted from all around him as he pushed onward. The crowd before him ran down the main street. A mistake, as it only crowded them together for what came next. Oliver leaned down and extended his tongue, the buildings on either side of the road pressing the tongue into a spoon shape that easily scooped up the vast majority of the panicked citizens. He pulled them all back into his maw and smiled as he sucked upon the mass, the struggles they each made making him slap his tailfin against the ground in immense pleasure. Sadly, all good things must come to an end, and the hunger in his belly called for him to send all his squirming prey down to their new home. With a massive gulp he sent a squirming bulge down his throat, one that vanished into his chest as it made the final journey to his stomach.
His snack finished, he continued on his way. A trail of debris and massive puddles was left in his wake, along with any people fortunate enough to have gone unnoticed by the monster. Once a decent way into the city, he started sweeping his fins everywhere, raining debris and water all over the inhabitants of the peaceful city.
As he saw the circle of rubble around him, he grinned widely and tapped his tail fin against the floor by instinct. For him it was merely a show of pleasure and joy, like how a dog would wag its tail. For the survivors below, however, it was a near constant earthquake that shifted the roofs above and the ground below back and forth around them.
Still though, his job wasn’t done. He’d merely enjoyed the beach and entrance to the city. There were still so many toys and snacks that awaited him further inside. He slid towards the heart of the city, slamming his fins into the ground and the buildings around him as he made his way forward. He felt the little buildings under him, collapsing and shifting under his weight. It was almost like sand on a beach, if the sand was clumped together into a hollow shell.
Ahead, Oliver saw tanks and military vehicles screeching through the streets on their way to him. He grinned as they got closer and aimed their various guns at him.
“This is going to be fun,” he said as he licked his lips. All at once the tank fired on him, and all at once their shells slid off his slick and shiny body. He laughed as he slid forward and slammed his flipper into a couple of tanks, both of which crumpled like paper under the force. He removed the flipper to reveal the crushed tanks in a crater filled with a small pool of water from Oliver’s still wet body.
He turned his attention to the cars in the wide road directly in front of him and turned around. He raised his tail fin high into the air, blotting out the sun for the soldiers below. He turned his head back to look at their terrified faces and gave his tail fin a teasing wiggle. As the cars started to try to reverse and the soldiers tried to flee, he slammed the tail fin down onto the group. The rebellion was quashed in an instant. Ironically, when Oliver raised his tail the crushed remains below all ended up in a crater the shape of a heart.
As Oliver looked down at the heart shaped grave in satisfaction, he heard some buzzing around his head. After looking around he saw some planes flying around trying to shoot him down, as well as some news helicopters trying to get an up close look at the destruction as it unfolded. At this point, Oliver was growing a bit annoyed. Couldn’t these bugs just let him have fun in peace? He was done with toys that fought back.
He reared his head back and prepared to attack. The people in the flying machines watched as water appeared and coalesced on top of his nose, like a beach ball was starting to just appear and grow in perfect balance at the end of his muzzle. He lowered his head again and blasted a water gun at all of the flies, blasting them all out of the sky in quick succession.
Oliver turned around again after removing the annoying gnats who wanted to interrupt his fun. As he scanned the area, he noticed a few more little people rushing down a stairway into a subway system. Well, we couldn’t have that. He slipped forward and used his nose and muzzle to quickly dig up the ground around where the tracks would be, and he struck gold. He found the front end of the train, which had almost reached full capacity.
“Thank you for choosing the Popplio line, be sure to keep all hands and legs inside the vehicle at all times and you will be reaching your next stop soon,” he said to the micros below as he giggled. He leaned his head in and snatched up the train between his teeth. He gently got a hold of the train so as not to damage it before it got to the next stop and slowly pulled it out. Once enough had come out, he wrapped his lips around it and started to suck it in. One after another, train cars filled with screaming people were slurped into the maw of the Popplio and swallowed down. Those in the front had to watch as the stomach slowly got closer as other cars were pulled in behind them, while those in the back were forced to watch as the cars in front of them were swallowed down. And their turn would come soon enough.
After swallowing down all nine cars, Oliver let out a content sigh and a loud belch as he patted his belly. “Thank you again for joining us on the tour through Oliver’s insides, please enjoy the scenery as you’re taken through the track.”
Popplio lay there digesting his meal for a moment, simply thinking. Should he simply leave? Or should he show off just a little more, and show these micros who their new god was? He decided to have one more show of strength. He grew to a far more immense size, shoving the buildings around him over by simply sitting there and expanding. Once he’d reached a height large enough to equal three of the city’s tallest skyscrapers stacked atop one another, he leaned down and snapped a building from its foundation. He tossed it into the air, people still hiding inside, and caught it on the tip of his nose. He laughed as he balanced it there, like a Popplio of normal size might balance a beach ball.
After balancing it for a few minutes, he bounced it into the air and opened wide, letting the building fall into his cavernous maw. He swallowed it whole, sending the structure and its occupants down his gullet and into his belly with a gulp that could be heard for miles. His stomach gave a satisfied growl, and Oliver let out another belch that could be heard even farther away.
Finally, with the rubble spanning miles and a full belly, Oliver let out a yawn. He giggled and went back to the sea for a nice long nap.
